Does the wood appear to be sealed or coated?

Hi, the height of this item is 16 inches.

The description says that it is 16" tall.  The picture looks taller.  How tall is it really?

How far apart are the slats the shoes sit on? Would match box cars be able to sit on them if hung horizontal on a wall?

Yes it's a little small, but I bought two for my kids and it's fits their shoes just fine. They have 12 pairs each they were able to fit on it. It's sturdy once you have the whole piece together.

Good purchase

I love this shelf. I brought this and put it by my staircase as I have carpet upstairs and prefer  everyone to take their shoes off before walking. It seems pretty sturdy to me. I haven't had a problem with it so far and I have been having it for 3 months now. the color was much darker than I thought it would be but it turned out matching really well with my living room. I wasn't looking for anything too expensive and this worked out perfect

Great for the price

Like the style. Not giving it a 5 star because it is a tad flimsy and the screws crack the wood when screwing it together. plus one side of one screw was cracked when I got and replaced it for another one and it was cracked too. But I still used it the second time  as it still held up my shoes.

good style but not sturdy.

I bought this rack to hold my shoes in my closet. I have boots, tennis shoes and dress shoes. Outside of the top rack, this rack can only hold two (2) pair of shoes per level. I kinda snuck in a third pair of dress shoes by angling them. But the pieces that hold the stand in place get in the way. I wear size 10 1/2.  Otherwise the rack is fine.

Not able to hold many Men's Shoes

It arrived much sooner than expected and was packaged well. It was easy and quick to assemble. Some of the edges were rough and splintery which is why I gave it only 4 stars. It was unfinished as stated so I painted it. I am very satisfied with it.

Three tier shoe rack.

This was easy to assemble.   The material is pretty light and somewhat flimsy but as long as you're not flinging shoes on it with force, this price friendly shoe rack will fit your needs.

Shoe rack

I was only able to put 2 pairs of mens shoes on the 2 lower tiers because of the support wood plank. The top tier i was able to put almost six pair if you stack one shoe on top of the other. The supports limits the space that is usable on the 2 lower tiers.

ok for the money

The stand is too weak, the wood is of very bad quality. My husband and I were scared it would crack while putting the screws. It's extremely weak. Besides, I ordered a natural light wood color but got espresso dark one. What a disappointment. We didn't return it though because it was meant for the closet not outside.  Anyway it's now holding like 10 pairs of shoes, so far so good, but I'm not touching it.

Too weak

I purchased this because I thought it looked better than the metal ones I looked at, and I wanted one by our front door.  It is cheaply made and the wood snapped in two different places while I was putting it together.  The entire rack is not squared up to fit together right.  I was able to make it work with some wood glue and determination, but I would not buy another one.

VERY cheaply made- one of the slats was bent at the end like a crooked finger (and it's wood!). Putting it together proved somewhat of a challenge since the space allotted for the upright supports to fit between the slats was too small.
