This is a bargain priced soundbar. We got this for a room with limited additional space. I have a complete 5.1 surround system with Yamaha receiver and B&W speakers on our main TV. Does this compete ... no... but at the cost of a subwoofer cable on my theater system this does a good job. You can and easy to use mounting hardware. You can connect it with cables or bluetooth so set the speaker in front of the TV, mount it on the wall, or do what I did which was mount it above the TV from the top of the TV stand. It comes with a template to mount which worked perfectly it is very easy. Sound is good, it is a lot better than the TV speakers while taking up limited room. Also the width is good for smaller openings, which I had. Over all an extremely functional speaker that is super easy to setup and use.

Don't expect big booming base and complete surround sound and you will be extremely happy.

Good soundbar at a budget price.

Great sound. Had to purchase a optical cable...a slight con would be volume level doesn't appear, so you'really guessing. Nice bluetooth pairing with phone to run music through it.

Basic Samsung sound bar

I bought this a little while back but couldn't connect it w/the cable that they provided for some reason so I couldn't use it right away. Finally I figured out what I needed & went and bought a GE Pro Series Fiber Optic Audio Cable & I heard it for the first time today and I'm in love! I wish I googled earlier what I needed to purchase for this soundbar, it's truly amazing for the price! I do wish it had a menu to see the different modes when changing them but still it's great... I definitely recommend this if you're looking to improve ur tv sound quality.

I love this soundbar!!!

This sound bar is an big improvement over the marginal speakers from my 3 year old Samsung 32 inch TV. My TV did not have an audio output jack, so we had to use an input to the soundbar from the Direct TV box with an additional cable, which was not provided. My TV has only one hdmi port, and already had a Chromecast attached, so if you have a better tv (with more ports to connect to) this might be a great choice. I could not get the Direct TV remote control to work with the soundbar, so you end up having an additional remote to deal with.

The Bluetooth function works very well with my iPad, so I do use the soundbar for streaming music!

At the time of purchase, I also considered the similarly priced Vizio soundbar which may have been a good choice too, considering it came with additional cables. Went with the Samsung because of my tv, but in retrospect it probably made no difference.

Pretty good...

Sounds better when its cranked up pretty loud but falls way short of a home theater experience. Not enough bass. But much better than the TV speakers alone. If you want better bass sound plan on spending a few bucks more to get a system with a sub woofer. Overall, can't expect a theater experience for $80, but a good sound for the investment. We can't all afford to put out hundreds of dollars for a true home theater experience. Biggest complaint was the installation instructions. They are basically worthless. Had to call customer support after an hour of trying to get it to work. But then again, I'm not the biggest techno geek on my block and don't have a 10-year-old to help with the new technology.

good sound for the money

It does work with my older (ca. 2008) Samsung LCD TV and it sounds much better than the built-in speakers, but it did not come with the correct cable to connect it. My TV only has RCA (L/R) and optical connections for audio output. This soundbar comes only with a mini-stereo jack cable, which I assume newer Samsungs have. I ended up purchasing an optical audio cable so that the auto-power on feature would work. I need a simple to use soundbar that does not require a second remote control, and unfortunately this unit is not that. It does sound good, however, so if you have a newer TV with the proper outputs, you might try it.

Not completely compatible with older Samsung TVs

I just got this soundbar and the sound is great. The only drawback is only one of my tvs has a USB port on it and none have a 3.5mm port for the Aux cable it comes with. I will have to purchase a Optical Digital Cable to connect it to the tv. It would have been nice to know that before I purchased this sound bar. Otherwise, it connected to my iPhone and iPad via Bluetooth beautifully and the sound is great!

Great Sound, extra equipment needed

Ordered the Samsung HW-JM25/ZA model listed for $159 ( marked down to $89.99) but received the cheaper model (HW-JM25) which sells in the store for $87.00. Quality is not the same. The box received via FedX was the HW-JM25 model sold in the store with an "add-on" sticker on it stating it was the HW-JM25/ZA model I ordered. I went to the local Walmart and looked at all 7 boxes on the shelf for the HW-JM25 model and none had the "add-on" label. Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!!!! Either Walmart tends to sometimes send you a "cheaper" product than ordered or their warehouse staff mentality is not up to par. Anyway, from now on I will gladly pay more for a product and order from a reputable source.
