I noticed that the heavier you are the more stable the kayak behaves. Me with my 160 lbs was blown back by the wind while my 200 plus lbs friend, was not.

You should get the 12 footer, believe me, you'd be happier and feel more stable.

I'M 270 LB. SELLING MY ARUBA 10 FOOTER AND BUYING THE 12 FOOTER RATED AT 300 LB !ON FLAT WATER I WAS OK BUT IN THE RIVER I NEEDED MY LIFE JACKET !

My weight is 260 will that have any affect on how the kayaks stability.

yes, the adjustable foot pegs will reach up to 6'5" comfortably, after that your legs would be bent, but you could always just put them over the side if you want to relax

Purchased the Sun Dolphin Journey 10 for my 6'3" son in law. He wanted a light weight kayak for fishing that he could carry by himself and would fit in his minivan. He is very happy with it and has plenty of leg room, he did take the adjustable foot rests out though. He had no problem with it being unstable and tracked just fine (he is tall but not overweight). Actually went faster than he thought it would. Said it was the best birthday gift he ever received and a real bargain at the price.

Don't pay attention to bad reviews

Very happy with this Kayak, got it at a great price. Used it several times and caught fish. All my gear was accessible once I figured out the best way to stow it, and it held its place and drifted nicely so I could fish where I wanted.

Great boat

I am 5'6", 140lb and this kayak fits me well. It doesn't really track straight but that may be a function of the shape? I took it out 3x a day this past weekend on a lake and it was great. Seatback is comfortable, lots of adjustment for leg lengths. Overall, great purchase especially since it came with a paddle!
