It is recommended that for the top bunk bed, you get a 5&quot; twin xl matress (I bought this- Lucid&reg;
Lucid 5&quot; Gel Memory Foam Dual-Layered Mattress) Twin X-Large). The only caution on the instructions is the top bunk bed is recommended for 6 yrs and older, but my 5 year old is just fine sleeping on it. I wouldn&#39;t recommend two kids to be on top of it, either for playing or sleeping. For the bottom bed, you need a queen size mattress only. It would be too heavy to add a box spring. My queen size matress is thick and very heavy and I have two grown-up adults sleeping on it and it works just fine.

Assembly

The parts and tools were well packaged. The instructions were clear and the parts were labeled which made it easy to assemble. 

It's heavy and you need two people to assemble it. 

My 5 year old daughter loves the top bunk bed. 

The only drawback was that the shipping was so expensive and yet the freight service Walmart contracted, for insurance purposes could not bring it inside my house or even at my door since I live on the second floor. It was frustrating but customer service was very helpful in the end.

Works as intended. Love it.

I loved the fact that it was queen size on the bottom so that two adults could sleep there when in town visiting. It says not over 200 pounds but I find two adults do just fine.

bunk bed

This is a well designed and easy to assemble bed. The directions were a little sparse but I was able to put it together. I did have a problem with one screw going into a threaded hole. It kept cross threading and I had to use a nut driver to force it in. Otherwise it went together well and it looks good.

Love the bed

This item can only be sent to a local Walmart store. The first time I was informed that the item was damaged from the supplier. They sent it back. Then I received the second one and it took a long time to receive the item so no rush on this shipment. When I got it the box had a hole in it and the bed had paint scratched off on the sides and not all of the parts weer in the package. Also the directions are not clear so after multiple tries of putting it together and 4 hours later the bed is finally together with missing screws.

not worth the trouble

The product description did not mention the weight limits of 150lb on the top bunk and only 200lb for the bottom.

Twin over Queen bed

This bed is great but we had to add 4 extra braces under bed so it will take extra weight. We attached 4- 4x4 pieces of wood and attached to bed rails with L brackets Two on top of each. Along with the two little braces the bed comes with. We do wish the bed came with 6 braces so we didn't have to buy some.  A 200-250 lb. limit for a Queen bed is just not realistic for Adults. Love the Twin over Queen Idea.

Bed needs to come with a lot more braces.

Arrived all scratched up and with dents in it. Poorly made, will be returning it and what a drag after opening everything up. I had seen other reviews that said they received their bed damaged as well.

Don't buy

The weight limit on the Queen bed is only 200 lbs. They do not mention this in the description. I bought this bed for a couple with a small child that often stays with us. After picking it up from the store (no small feat), spending the day building it, I noticed in the paperwork that the weight limit on the Queen bed is only a mere 200 lbs. RIDICULOUS!!! What couple together totals a mere 200 lbs? I would have not bought this had this been stated in the description.

Unless you want a Queen bed for a single person 200 lbs or less, this is not the bed for you. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

The description should say state the ridiculously low weight limit on the queen portion of the bed.

Ridiculouly Low Weight Limit

The holes didn't line up so was very difficult to put together. Also it squeaks with every movement our small child (25lbs) makes all night long! Would definitely spring for better quality next time!

Not best quality

Upon pick up the box dimensions were 60" × 80" so a worker was kind enough to attempt to help my husband take the pieces out of the box to place them in our vehicle. The box was damaged on the outside and after opening it I saw that two of the pieces were already dented in.  They refunded my money, and I considered just having a new one sent but after reading reviews I saw that it was not just my case. It's obviously not a strong metal.
