No you don't. It also looks much more expensive than you think it will! Very nice!

The supports that come with the bed are weak, I advise you to add extra supports if you are not planning to use box springs.

The bed is a great value and looks wonderful in my room. It was very easy to construct as well. :-)

Bought this for my son in Sept 2012, this is an awsume bed!! Looks like we spent much much more then we did as matter of fact thinking of getting one for my masterbedroom. Needed to get a a 1 x 2 board from local home store for extra support but only cost $20 more well worth it (they cut it to size for free) only gave it 4 stars because of needed extra support pieces other wise would have given it 5

The headboard looks great, the rails are great. The downfall is the poor mattress support, you have to reinforce the support.

We love the look of this bed!! It is a great look, with a nicely padded headboard, but right out of the box knew we were going to have problems with the rails. This bed only comes with 4 rails, so we knew we were going to have to add more rails to meet the specification of our warranty with our new king mattress (rails every 2-3 inches). Unfortunately it was the middle of the week and we decided to wait and add the extra rails on the weekend, but a few of the rails broke before the weekend. My husband completely redid the support system under the bed. This is a great bed for the cost but expect to have to do some modifications to the support system of this bed.

It is not a sturdy bed at all. We had it for a month and the wooden support beams broke. It was a waste of $300

Broke after a month

I bought a king size bed in June 2012 and although it was relatively easy to setup, I was shocked to see only 4 slats and knew that it won't last long. Few days ago, two of the slats broke and now the bed is useless until i get more slats.

The bed itself is appealing however the build quality is very poor. I won't recommend this bed, better to spend a little more and get a good quality bed from a furniture showroom.
