I actually purchased a low rise box spring for my daughters memory foam mattress (because of the bar metal frame) &amp; it is EXTREMELY comfortable. I don&#39;t think if I would have just put a mattress on there it would have been as comfy...

I am over 250 pounds and use my daybed with a 8 inch twin size &#39;&#39; my gel mattress &#39;&#39; which holds me great and the mattress fits perfect , easy to change sheets as well since the mattress does not weigh tons ... I&#39;ve been using this for over a year ... it does not need a box spring at all , tons of support rails are included ...

I have a couple of DHPs daybeds in the house. I&#39;ve found that using the cardboard from the box it comes in (cut to size) on top of the bars below the mattress gives is a little more comfort and eliminates the need to take it to the recycling center.

Bed is OK, but squeaks constantly, no matter how much you tighten or retighten the screws. And no, you don&#39;t have to be over 200 pounds for the noise. In terms of stability, it OK...but then again...its cheap screws and cheap metal frame. Don&#39;t expect luxury class feeling laying on it.

No need for a boxspring with this bed. Twin size fits perfectly and the rails beneath provide plenty of support.
