We remodel houses and it took most of the day for assembly. Be prepared for someone that is good with tools to spend some time putting this together. but it looks and works great.

Good Desk for Price

This desk is really attractive after assembly and the black writing surface is such an awesome feature - no need for those big desk calendars or old-fashioned desk blotters! It's so nice not to have to worry about "writing through" the paper to mar the wood or about leaving rings on the wood from wet cans or glasses. The fact that the drawers on one side of the desk can be locked is also a handy feature. The desk looks as though it cost a lot more than it actually did, so I'd call it a great bargain. The directions were a bit difficult to interpret at points but, overall, not too bad. Be aware that there are no extra screws, so keep up with them! Also, keep the screws in the labeled bags or put them in something else that can be labeled, as you will refer to their "#" repeatedly during the construction process, per the directions. Use the glue sparingly so as not to run out. It is wise to have two people work together on this project, especially toward the end. Overall, I am extremely pleased by this beautiful and elegant piece of furniture!

Beautiful desk!

A couple of things you need to know before you purchase:
1) The desk is laminated over particle board - not solid wood.
2) Drawer bottoms are very thin and not designed to support weight.
3) Assembly required, and you will be very frustrated and angry if you don't have a helper and a battery powered screwdriver. There are several hundred screws...maybe more.
4) Plan on one full day to assemble or several evenings. This is not your average job.
5) Home delivery will run you $150 or pick up at your local store for free, but you need an SUV or pickup. It weighs 200 pounds and is a wide and long package which will not fit in a sedan nor will tie to a sedan's roof. It would probably damage it anyway.

Top Value! But...

I simply love this desk. It looks great, it is just the right size for my room, and most importantly it has lockable drawers where I can keep the important papers that I don't want my two year old to play with.
The only downside is that you have to have some time on your hands to assemble it. it would take you at least 4 to 5 hours to do a proper job if you are by yourself, but it is really worth it. I saw desks for three times the price and they didn't look half as nice! Great Buy!

Great Product

Assembly is incredibly difficult and time consuming. Materials are flimsy and break easily.

You get what you pay for

We shipped to a local store to save the shipping which was one of the reasons we decided to try this desk. There was another desk we liked better but the shipping was over a hundred dollars. Walmart's price was also a big savings over going through a furniture store. The Walmart associate showed me how the shipping box was open and it looked like it went through very rough handling. The pieces looked OK from peeking in. If my kid had not wanted this desk so bad, and had been impatiently waiting its arrival I really should not have accepted delivery. But there was no way I was going home empty handed so I took it home. It is heavy and you need a big SUV or truck to get it home. Some of the pieces were less than perfect but we decided to put it together. I contacted the company that manufactured it and they said they could ship a max of 5 replacement pieces- I think. We didn't have them ship any. Too impatient and figured my kids would probably ding it up a little anyway. It took a long time to assemble- probably 4 evenings. There are a lot of pieces but the directions were good enough- you mostly follow pictures- not many words. The middle of my hand got a nice blister from all of the screwing. Start with gloves because they do not recommend power tools. It has that thin covering type finish that was peeling on the ends of a couple pieces. Build it in the room you plan to use it. The desk is big which is what I wanted. Other than the shipping damage we are happy with it.

Delivery Damage

This desk is really nice, except for all of the scratches. I would have returned it, but my house was in disarray while I was remodeling my home office. If you have time to send back parts, then this might be a good product for you. One of the pieces had a major gouge (from a forklift). The scratches looked more like an issue with the packaging???

wood quality

I have had this office furniture for years and have contacted bush several times for replacement parts. This furniture does NOT move well it falls apart over time. I would not tell anyone to waste their money on this it cost to much and does not hold together well.

Bush Saratoga Managers Desk Harvest Cherry

Heavy, poor material, overpriced.
My 19 years old son set it up with little help from another people. He dropped one top panel on the floor, and one corner was broken. The broken corner shows very poor material from inside. I will never buy the “Bush” branch furniture again.
The only good thing is very fast delivery.
