Hi Gail, We recommend only using Dry Erase Crayons with this product as the markers will not show up on the black side.

From what I can tell you have to use the Dry Erase Crayons. Has anyone else tried Dry Erase Markers?

Yes, our Dry Erase Light-Up Board has 3 surfaces: 1 clear surface and 1 insert with a black side and a white side.

The main board is clear and it comes with a black and white board. All 3 can be switched around.

Yes. Just take the black/white board out. My daughter likes to use the clear only.

Yes. There are 2 boards that sit inside of the frame. The one in front is clear, and the one behind is black on one side, and white on the other. If you wanted to use clear, you would just remove the black and white board.

Yes you can see through it but the eraser doesn't clean it very well so you can see your old drawings.

Yes. There are 2 panels that go inside a frame: one clear and one with white in one side and black on the other. So when they want to "see through" all the do is draw on the clear panel and leave the other panel out.

Can it be used as a see-through as shown in the ad?

The box states it's for 5+ and not for children under 3.

My kids are 4 and 6. It is basically just a white board that lights up so as long as you are ok with them using the crayons.

I don't know if there is a recommended age range, but I would guess 3 and up.

I believe the box said 3+ but its just like using a dry erase board, except instead of markers they are crayons. Which I think are better, so it only gets on the board not the kids clothes, your sofa etc.

I got it for my 9 year old niece and she liked it. She has 2 brothers and 1 sister (ages 3 - 7). The boy age 5 and the girl age 3 loved it. The boy 7 was not as interested. So I guess 3 out of 4 kids ages 3-9 is not bad odds.

This is a great and fun light-up board. We purchased for our 5 year old granddaughter who had her tonils and adneoids removed and had to lie on the sofa for a couple of days. She wrote, she drew pictures, she played school, played tic-tac-toe with her sister, etc. The board kept her from becoming bored.

Took a bit long to set up but I love looks amazing. I recons to use a hand tool instead of a drill for the locks they can break

It holds my toddlers attention enough so I gave it a good rating. It's a little over priced for what it is. It's a bit flimsy. It looks more sturdy in the online photos. Overall, I'm okay with it.

My toddler likes it

This is such a great idea for a toy to keep kids occupied over and over without a mess. I bought this for my 3yr old niece and she loved it, but she couldn't  wipe of the crayon from the board on her own. An adult needs to help to really apply some elbow grease. A few swipes of 3 yr old strength won't cut it. Also the light functionality was weird. It's not a simple on/off switch. One function is that the light blinks. What is the point of that? Anyway, cute idea but the functionality could be simplified.

Fun but not functional

Special needs daughter loved it! The backup light made all the difference! Made flimsy though! Back piece came undone! Great for those with Special needs! She was soo busy coloring ! She didn't try to eat crayons! I recommend it! Batteries should have been included! And where not! Needs to be made a little tuffer
