This my first gaming Laptop! Let me just start off by saying WOW!!! This is everything and more that any gamer would want. Its able to currently play any game that's out on the market. Love the light up keyboard. Also the color of the black and blue just looks soooo good together. Also use this laptop for day to day tasks like: Web browsing, YouTube, Spotify, Email, and whatever else you can think of. I've hooked it up to a Samsung 43in 4K ultra HD Curved Smart TV....and WOW looks soooo pretty!  Would highly recommend to anyone. It doesn't have to be used as gaming laptop. That actually wasn't my purpose when I got it, Just an extra feature if i wanted to try it...well i got hooked on PC games. Great for anything really. Solid PC. 10 out of 10!!!

I am using this computer right now to write this review and it has proven to be very reliable. With the proper AV software and more maybe a little more ram this computer competes with the best of the best! I think it was a great choice! Perfect for what I needed it for.

Great Computer

I'm trying to look at this as a learning experience. I really am. It's rather difficult when what a laptop that carries the "gaming laptop" name, by Dell, runs worse than a car you'd buy off of Craigslist for the same price. So, here we go ...

I have had this laptop for 10 months. I researched until I settled on this one, thinking it would meet all of the requirements. I don't really game on a laptop. Instead, I use it for daily/work tasks that require multiple tabs, browsers, etc. For a short time, it seemed we were good to go.

Within the first 2 or 3 months, I had to contact Dell because the laptop was not charging. After using remote assistance, they determined I needed a new charger. (Spoiler alert .. they were wrong.) I ended up with the laptop getting more and more glitchy. It freezes ALL THE TIME. In fact, it freezes almost every single day. That is abnormal and very hard on a computer. But, hey, it doesn't stop there.  One random day the laptop just wouldn't turn on. Apparently it is very prone to having residual power, which creates issues with charging, etc. So, that was yet another call to Dell Support. After that was resolved, the usual issues continued.

As of today, I've just been through another 2 days of charging issues. I just had to have the laptop taken apart, the battery removed (by the way .. be prepared, because it's not as simple as you'd think!) and I'm now attempting to recharge the battery.  If you do a search, you will see these are common problems with this computer.  I'm so over this laptop.  

As far as any pros, I'll attempt to find some. I love the back-lit keyboard. It's great.  It is competitively priced for a gaming laptop. Dell customer service has been responsive.  When the computer isn't freezing up or not charging, it handles most of what I'm throwing at it. That's all I've got.

Sadly disappointing laptop

Says processor runs at 3.9Ghz but it really runs at 2.2Ghz :(

This purchase was by far the worst purchase ever in my entire life of 64 yrs!!!  My grandson has had nothing but problems with this computer from day one!  But of course you get the run around when you talk to someone, and in fact, one cant understand their language! I took the computer to a technician and he fixed the at the time  problemS, for it to only tear up again! Has torn up 3 times after being "fixed." And I have only had this computer less than a month!!!  Dell finally sending shipping labels to send the computer back so it can have a new board installed. In the mean time, my grandson will be without his gaming computer for at least 3 more weeks!! What a bunch of baloney to pay $944.00 for a piece of crap!!  The kid hasn't gotten to play on it no more than a few hours!!!!

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED

Absolutely disappointed and shocked how bad laptop for this price could be. After only few weeks of using it the laptop start freezing and be not responding using various applications, programs, browser and doing very simple operations.  I read and tried any posible ways to make it work installing all required updates etc. but I can say that this is one of the purchases in my life I will always regret (also the fact that I missed with one day the returning date). I am sure Dell have better products and this one is may be just exception.

Waist of money

I'm highly disappointed with the Dell G3.  I had owned an ASUS gaming laptop for 10 years before it started having problems.  3 months after owning this laptop I started having various issues like refusing to update, running sluggishly,  shutting down incorrectly, and other glitches with the OS.  It calls itself a gaming laptop but most new games won't run very well on it.  Dell customer service was also deplorable so I had to give it to a friend to re-image.  Won't buy a Dell again.
