Arcade 1Up currently has their own proprietary emulation hardware running on the cabinet.  So the 12 games is what you currently can only run and cannot add anymore to it.  People have done their own mods to the cabinet but I would not recommend it as it will void your warranty.

For the buttons, they can take a beating, and if unfortunately they do break.  They are easily replaceable.

You can easily replace the arcade buttons/sticks with replacement parts.  Arcade controls wear out all the time.

I'm glad this went down on the price just hard getting the deck protector from arcade 1Up it's still on back order other than that I love my Atari classics just wish they had marble madness on it thanks so much walmart

Best believe the hype! I'm Soo Happy! I was skeptical, delivery was a day late, but I got 10% back! So I got $315 invested in this toy. No asthetic defects, simple assembly, and now I feel like I'm back in the 80's! Hello McFly. So much fun, Asteroids is one of my all time favs, and I'm killing it! No quarters on the deck, I can play when I want, well when the ms. let's me when she is not playing centipede. I couldn't be happier, the controls work as I remember, no issues there, just a heck of allot of fun! Thanks arcade 1up, you nailed this!

Awesome, Possum!

My husband and I love this gaming machine!  I read a few bad reviews and I totally disagree.  I believe some people expect the old professional gaming machines and if that were what this was you'd pay thousands of dollars.  It's easy to put together, love the riser!  The bundle is the way to go!  I assembled it myself.  It's very sturdy and I love the fact that it can be moved easily if I change my mind and want to put it somewhere else.  We have had a blast playing the older games we grew up playing!  We are sending one to the grand kids for Christmas next year!

TOO MUCH FUN!

This is a great and economical video arcade system with all these classic authentic video games from the 80's! We love it and it usually is the highlight of the party whenever guest come by!  I had another system that cost nearly 10x more but this version has a bigger screen and is easier to use and far more affordable than the old one!

Authentic CLASSIC video games from the 80's!

Great looking console, easy to put together, easy to use controls, and freaking addictive. I got this game system for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. 12 retro games that we both great up with. I highly recommend this system for any 80's kids who grew up with arcades.

FREAKING AWESOME!

First off, I grew up thru the 80's and played all the original versions of these games.  Digging for quarters everywhere in the house and car, just to have enough to head to the local mall arcades.  This gaming system brings back so many memories!

The system is really good. It takes about 45 minutes to assemble.  Take your time and follow the instructions.  Which are very easy to understand and follow.  The riser comes with this unit and makes it stand up height.   

Read the description, this is 7/8 scale version of original machines, but still look big,  aesthetically they are super cool looking and the game play is spot on.  Some reviews complained about the buttons, track ball and dial not being the same.  I agree the dial is a bit “clicky”, but the Tempest game plays exactly like you remember. 

Atari made these games exactly like you remember.  The sounds, colors and feel will bring all the old memories rushing back to you the instant you hit the Player 1 button. 

Asteroids,  Centipede, Missle Command, Tempest are the big games on this unit.  The others are not quite as popular.  

I would highly recommend buying this gaming system for anyone who played them as a kid or wants to introduce your family to the games that paved the way for their generation of games.  

I also purchased the Galaga/Galaxian system and it plays exactly like the arcade version.  

I recommend buying the warranty for your system.  $34 covers everything for three years.

Totally Aweome!

So I bought the PacMan and Galaga consoles during Black Friday weekend and had room in my man cave to get one more console. 
Originally I bought the Asteroids console but before I assembled it the deluxe console became available and at a great price, especially considering a riser is included. So I returned the Asteroids and got this since I would get BOTH Asteroids AND Centipede on one console! 
Just like my other two consoles, this one was easy to assemble (once I realized they combined some of the console parts in with the riser parts). 
On to the gameplay. Let me start with Asteroids as it's one of my all time favorite games from when I was a kid. The gameplay is as I remember it but seems to be ratcheted up to a harder level. The controls are fine but the button layout does take a bit to get used to. 
The trackball for Centipede and Millipede surprised me because it doesn't have the smooth roll that the arcade machines had but the stiffer roll seems to allow me more control, so gameplay on these two is very, very good! I'm yet again hooked on these two! I will say that they should have used a larger percentage of the 17" display for these two (especially on Millipede) but it's not a knock out factor for me. 
I was pleasantly reminded how much fun the game Missle Command is as well. The roller ball is fine with this game as well. 
The one that seems to have elicited the most negative response in reviews is Tempest with the dial issues. I will say although it's not as smooth of gameplay, those who are telling you the game is unplayable are 100% mistaken. I found the control to be satisfactory. Although I'd prefer a free wheeling dial vs. this clicky model, I was racking up pretty solid scores right away. 
I really haven't had time to play any of the ancillary games provided but the fact that you get 12 games AND a riser for that price, I'm really glad I took the leap with this one. 
All in all I think Arcade 1up has done pretty well with their consoles, especially now that they're starting to provide free deck protectors via an online web site ordering process. 
I'm still wondering how these will hold up long term, but since we don't intend to play them as heavily as say our XBOX One X, they make a great addition to my man cave.  
So for much less than the price of one used full size arcade machine, I have almost all of the games from my childhood in THREE great looking consoles! 
I'm really pleased I bought this Deluxe Version to complete the set!

Great Game Variety, Gameplay And Value!

For the Price, this is Great. There's no way you can expect to get a 'retro' game system for this price. The construction was easy, and it works as advertised. Simple but cool design. Only about 10 screws and a little patience. 

The down sides: You get what you pay for. It's not 'authentic', so the games are emulated. You can notice some changes and sometimes the games don't react the way you think they would (or should).  Also, the unit is small. Like, definitely not arcade sized. I know the measurements are on the site, but keep in mind, this is probably 2/3 the size of an arcade game. Also, pro tip: get the game with the Riser if you plan on using this with adults. It's super short. 

Overall, totally worth the money if you want a retro-pi style game system that you don't have to build yourself. (could easily have added more games, though)

Worth the Price, Smaller than expected

3 1/3 * would be more accurate.  Mine arrived with a trackball that would barely move.   This is my 2nd Arcade 1up machine and both had an issue that I contacted customer support for.  If you need customer support, DON'T respond to them using email, use their web based support site.  https://arcade1up.freshdesk.com/.  With my Mortal Kombat machine, not once did they respond to my emails and based on the emails I received from them asking if I still need help, I'm guessing they never received them or their Edge transport is blocking emails with attachments at a far too aggressive level.      I used the web based support for my roller ball issue with this machine and they were sending me a replacement within 24 hours. 

As for the games, I can't really comment on the trackball game yet, but the other games are all a lot of fun.   As others have said, the spinner is very poor quality.  You can find a true spinner made for the 1up arcades if you do a search and replace the original easily.   Tempest with a real spinner is a blast!  

I really think this company is moving in the right direction, just suffering with some growing pains.  The 2019 based machines are a much better quality than the 2018 and the 2020 games demoed at E3 look stunning.   I look forward to expanding my collection and building a home arcade.

Advise for anyone needing custom support for 1up

Stopped powering on for no reason after we had it for less than 2 months.  Probably played 10 or 15 times and now does nothing when switched on.   Checked all wire connections and power outlet.   Can't get a response from seller, so guess I have a $350 dust collector.

Doesn't even power on.
