AVR-S960H-R  Is a terrific Amplifier with BlueTooth and a range of HDMI outputs for Viewing TV and HEOS plus great sound for my Speakers. I have a great set for my dining room and two TV's to flip sound and Cable or Streaming; since I have had the AVR-S960H-R  for only 10 days, there are more features for me to learn.

AVR-S960H-R is a terrific Receiver!

This unit is a replacement of my awesome DPR1001. My old unit is out dated, but still amazing. Without HDMI I could not fully experience the fullness of high definition movies compared to toslink cable. So far the unit exceeded my expectations. I have not set up it fully yet but I'm not in a hurry. If not for HDMI eArc and HDMI inputs/outputs, I'd continue to use my Harman Kardon. Nevertheless, Denon got me hooked - no regrets.

Great relief

Denon is the best user friendly receiver. i have had 3 Denon receivers, then i tried the new Yahama RX 6A receiver and i did not like the interface at all. and it would not save my settings and the sound would take a few seconds to come on. My new Denon is right on par! and the sound is still awesome! i will Always stay with Denon!

Denon is still the best

Purchase a Denon refurbished receiver Avr-S960H, saved about $150.00. Box was neatly wrapped,  manual is on line, but you can download it, be prepared its close to 300 pages. Back to the receiver, I set it up 5.1.2 the atmos setup. I used the adjustments write out of the box except for the center speaker and the 2 back speakers. I increased the center speaker distance by 2 feet, and 2 feet subtraction for the back speakers. I have had several receivers in my life ranging from onkyo to pioneer elite and I have to say this had the best overall sound..I'm very happy with the purchase and recommend the refurbished receiver if you are looking to save some money.

Happy with my refurbished AVR-S960H

Delighted with the overall experience so far. The on-screen step-by-step setup was so easy and straightforward. The speaker calibration was also very easy and actually enjoyable at how new technology works. The Denon S960H is replacing a 10 year old Yamaha AVR that failed. I have been using the new Denon for three weeks now and I am really enjoying the movie and music listening experience, far better than what I had before. I am running a 5.1 Klipsch speaker arrangement currently.

Great product, only 95w and 7 channel but has every thing you need to incorporate good quality sound into your listening and watching experience.

Great middle of the road to upper level reciever.

Purchased refurbished AVR-S960H-R. 
Works really well, ton of features. Only issue is that on the product page they have the AVR-S750H listed as the first picture. That reciever has an HDMI input on the front. The AVR-S960H-R does not. So dont count on a front hdmi input with this reciever.

A great piece of equipment, after the set up (it takes a little while), the sound and and functionality is awesome.

Denon 960

I am still in the setup phase so I may change my rating later.  I am replacing an old Denon AVR 1905 in my home theater/man cave and my hope was to improve/simplify my setup.  To work around the fact that the 1905 has no HDMI ins or outs, I did not use it for any video switching and planned to use the AVR 960H to do the heavy lifting.  At this point, I have accomplished getting what I want but not in the way I expected.  For HDMI switching I have been utilizing a 4 X 2 true matrix and a powered HDMI splitter so that I could watch 3 college football and basketball games at once.  I stream ESPN+ on a ROKU and have a cable mini-box and the cable DVR which I want to output to a 720 flat screen in the theater, a 720 flat screen in the pool room behind the theater seats and a 1080 projector.  The surround sound goes with whatever is on the projector and the sound is muted on the flat screens.  I thought the second HDMI output would simplify my system but I haven't found a way to get both to work simultaneously. 

With all the fiddling and moving the AV rack and moving wires the picky nature of HDMI connections cause problems.  Getting the outputs to the video monitors that match and give the best results takes time.  At this time I am using the HDMI output to the projector and have the flat screens connected to the matrix.  I split the streaming device to output to the matrix and the DENON, the Cable DVR is only connected to the DENON, as the Blu-ray player.  The cable mini is only connected to the matrix.  The HDMI output with ARC is not used.

I have 2 tower speakers, a subwoofer, and a center speaker in front of the 148" screen for the projector, 2 surround speakers and 2 rear speakers set up with Audyssey.  I also have a switch to utilize 2 speakers in the pool room area as Area 2 or I can select 2 speakers outside on the patio.  So far it all works but I am still evaluating how everything is working and if I have it set up optimally.

There is a madman downstairs and it might be me.
