The foot pedals are stationary...they are actually held in place by two bolts that the heads sink down in to keep it all flush. The bars that you see them attached to are what moves.

The foot pedals are screwed onto the machine so they don't slide. If you where talking about your feet on the pedals then it depends. The pedals are a good size and rigid in that you won't split or slide off them but the factor that it does put you in a slight forward motion can make your feet slide against the front edge of the pedals, ramming your toes.

If your feet slide on the footpad, you have worn bottoms on your athletic shoes, or you are wearing socks. You could put that anti-slip adhesive tape that is used on stairs, it is like a piece of duct tape with a grainy surface to it. Several member of my family use this machine and don&#39;t have a problem.

Only my feet slide to the front of the steps. I&#39;m going to try sneakers with better tread.

She shouldn't have a problem since the handles are long. I'm 5 foot even & it worked good for me, height wise. Although, I'd consider a different product. Reviews aren't that great on this one & mine lasted all of 4 days. I'm currently waiting for a refund.

No. My 10-year-old uses it. He is about that height. My 17 year old also uses it and he is 6ft 2 inches, so it works for all heights.

My machine does not have adjustable handle bars, so I don't understand what everyone is talking about. My handle bars also do not fit tight, there is some movement, and I don't think they should be like this. My husband tightened them as much as possible.

My handlebars do not have a height adjustment on them. Perhaps the machine has been updated. However, my wife does not hold them by the top, she holds them on the grips farther down. It should not be a problem due to your height.

you use the handles like you would if you were cross country skiing. they don't propel you, they add an assist to the motion as well as balance. i do believe that you could use your arms to help more if you wanted to by tightening the tension, however, i haven't tried that. so if you are trying to ask if it will give your arms a workout, too...i am unable to answer that just yet as i just started using mine.
