Wow! I have never used a smoker pellet grill before but have always loved the taste of the food at BBQ restaurants. My brother assembled this and he is not the handyman type. It probably took him 2 hours or more. This was easier to use than I expected, I was thinking it would be complicated. To start with, you pour the pellets into the hopper, plug it in, and prime it for half an hour. That burns off any impurities in your new grill. Then the fun starts. We cooked bone-in chicken breasts, hot dogs, fries and smoked an already cooked boneless ham. It is cool because it is Bluetooth enabled meaning with the temperature probe, you can check the temperature of the meat while in the house. My wifi isn't too great and I kept losing the connection in the house and had to restart the grill a couple of times. I'm assuming that was not the grill's fault though. This grill has plenty of room to cook for an entire neighborhood if desired. There's direct heat for cooking meats and indirect heat for warming foods that don't need high heat. The grill can go up to 450 degrees. For a first time user of a smoker grill, the food came out very good. It was the right amount of smoke flavor yet not too smokey. My brother was so impressed that he complimented the meal more than once. I still have lots to learn about smoking foods but we are very happy with this! We love the ease of cooking with this over charcoal. It is not nearly as messy.

Love it!

This grill is great! My husband and I put it together in our living room, and then we rolled it out the back door to use it. My husband loves the fact that the grill is touch screen, but it also has an app that you can use. He was able to sit in the living room with me and adjust the temperature of the grill with his phone. Cleanup is much easier than with a charcoal grill, and he was able to grill three separate times using one 20 pound bag of pellets. The meat was so juicy and the smoke flavor was excellent. So far we've grilled/smoked salmon, chicken wings, and rib tips. He also threw some corn on the cob and asparagus on there. We can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so that we can grill some more.

My Husband LOVES this Grill!!

The Atlas Expert Pellet Grill and Smoker is truly a Exceptional Unit. It came to me in a big box that was very well packaged with tons of cardboard positioned so that nothing in the crate could move or jiggle around and possible get damaged during shipping and handling. The instruction Book is Large and a little bit intimidating when you first glance at it, but once you start reading it, It is very easy to follow with all the parts clearly marked as to correspond to the Manual. And the nuts and bolts are also very clearly marked so you don't get confused during assembly. The one thing that I do "recommend" to you, is to have a second person there when it comes time to install the Hopper to the unit. This is clearly a two person job. Because one of you will need to slide the Hopper into place while the other person plugs the wires into the Hoppers thermostat unit and keeps the wires from being pitched during assembly. They say that it takes around two hours to assemble "However" it took me around Five hours with No Breaks. That's possible because I'm 65 Years old and a perfectionist, and find myself double and triple checking everything for perfection. It's just something I've always done. So If you are at all not certain that you can assemble one of these units, I do recommend that you try and have Walmart Assemble it for you if at all possible. Once the unit is assimbled just fill the hopper with Pellets (I recommend There own brand of pellet's) and start the unit. Please do not start to smoke any food right away. You will need for your new unit to run at 350 Degrees for One hour to season and burn off any greases or oils in the unit during manufacturing.
 Our first Smoking I did was a nice thick side of Salmon and it turned out Fantastic!.. It's hard to belive that a smoker of this quality, is prices so very low because (IMO) it's worth three or four times what you can get this unit for. So In my Opinion "YES" I would recommend this unit to family and friend.

A Truly Wonderful Grill And Smoker

The Expert Grill Atlas pellet grill and smoker was easy to assemble with normal tools. Assembly only took a little over 2 hours following the included instructions. It would be helpful to have someone to help with certain steps during assembly. The overall design of the grill is very good and was very well thought out with exterior shelves both on the front and left side for use during cooking. The front shelf can be easily folded out of the way. The handle on the front of the grill is made from stainless steel and has a non-slip pad for easy gripping during use. The grill has an automatic feed system for the pellet hopper which can easily hold 8 to 10 pounds of pellets. The grill has over 1000 square inches of cooking surface with the 3 different levels. The LED controls on the grill make setting your cooking times and temperatures (from 180 to 450 plus degrees Fahrenheit) very easy. Also, the connections for 2 meat probes (it come with 1 probe) also help control the food temperature as well. The Grill also has Bluetooth for connecting to your smart phone using an app that can be downloaded and installed on your phone to control the grill as well. There are directions for installation and use for most phones in the manual. Overall, the grill is very well made and should last a long time following the recommended cleaning regime after each use. Read the entire manual before using the grill for safety reasons. We are very happy with the Smoker Grill!

Expert Grill Atlas pellet grill and smoker

After using propane gas grills for the past 30 years I felt now was the time to try a new approach to barbequing and what better time than during the fall season. It's a heavy grill and was delivered by box truck. It took my husband 2hrs to assemble it. The instructions on how to start the grill and use the features are not helpful. It took at least 30 min trying to figure out how to get the pellets to ignite and once it began, the amount of white smoke that billowed out was a sight to see! After the smoke goes away and desired temp is reached, it's time to start cooking. I cooked a large whole chicken on a vertical stand (something I'd never do in a gas grill). The neat thing is the wi-fi that allows you to control the grill with your phone. We were able to stay inside and monitor the grill temp etc. I'm looking forward to using it again next weekend.

Intense smoky flavor and aroma- soo delicious

Very impressed with the quality easy to use easy to assemble with just a few tools good smoke very happy with my purchase if you’re looking for a budget smoker to have some friends over eat good food and enjoy times together then this is the smoker for you got mine on roll back price I’m very happy with the results so far and look forward to my next cook If you’re looking for a budget smoker then look no further

I’m no expert but my grill is

This is a large grill, about 50% larger than a typical BBQ grill. You could likely feed 50 people or more if you filled up all the racks. Mine was delivered via a fright line, was well packed but just about used up all our whole recycle bin with cardboard. Assembly time was a little under 2 hours, pretty straightforward, I mainly just needed a picture to see how it all went together.

It got going pretty fast, about 20 minutes for the smoke to go down to a minimum and the grill to heat up, but they recommended you set it to 350 for 30 minutes before the first use. It has an app but since it's bluetooth, not wifi, so it only works about 15-20 feet from the grill at most. But it's still useful, you can set an alarm for when your meat gets to the desired temperature or view/change the grill temp and meat temperature. The one thing I would have liked to see is a quick cooking guide, it doesn't say anything about what to do with it after you turn it on the first time, like cooking times or how to set the adjustable vent in the bottom of the grill. From looking at other grills, it seems you open it for high temperatures, like searing, then close it for slow cooking like smoking.
The important part is it did an excellent job cooking a whole chicken the first time we used it, then next did a pork loin and that was prefect also. Basically it's set it and forget it. It keeps the temp controlled it self and auto feeds the pellets as needed. If you set a desired temperature in the app it will start beeping when it's finished.
We can't wait for Christmas, we are going to smoke a whole turkey for our holiday dinner and going to pick up brisket to cook this weekend.

Great grill, first two uses both came out perfect.

This grill was amazing straight from the box! Easily assembled. Looks great. We smoked 2 pounds of bacon right after assembly and the smoke flavor was awesome. We cooked on it all weekend and our guests were so impressed with the flavor of all the food. This grill has features you will not believe at this price. The built in thermometer probe is such a great feature and combined with the app it allows you to set your temperatures and join the party. No more missing out on the fun while you babysit the grill. I really liked the silicone handle cover, too. No more grabbing a hot handle! The shelves are great. They have a wood grain design which helped keep my spices and rubs from slipping off and there is plenty of room for prepping. There are three levels of racks that can be moved around to fit just about anything and a searing daisy wheel plate that makes steaks taste like heaven. Clean up is a breeze! You can easily wipe down the outside with soap and water and there is a handy ash drawer that makes dumping the ashes super quick.  I will recommend this grill to everyone! I cannot believe it was under $400.00
