I LOVE this owl drink dispenser! What a cute way to serve up the kids some kool-aid or provide a decorative spin on a refreshing drink for your next party or gathering! The Open/Close Valve/ spigot is very easy to operate. The kids love that they can dispense their own drink. I was surprised at how thick the glass is making it much more durable. The knob on the top is just the right shape & size for good grip while removing or putting it back on. I did however, find that the plastic ring that goes around the underside of the glass lid to provide padding for the lid against the top of the jar itself was not tight & secure to the lid but did slide back on easily. Also, the leaves that provide extra detail around the bottom of the owl do seem to be somewhat flimsy. I love the handle on the owl stand though because since the glass is thicker & quality made it is a little heavy & the handle makes it SO much easier to carry! I have gotten tons of compliments on this dispenser & definitely would recommend it to a perspective purchaser!

Great for Parties or everyday use!

This is a Gibson Home Pinetop 1.32 gallon glass drink dispenser. It's 19 inches tall in the cage,and 14 inches out of the cage. It's enclosed in a chicken wire cage,with a wicker roof. It didn't come with instructions so you just have to figure it out. I screwed off the plastic noozle and removed the nut from inside the thick glass jar. This is the only way you can get it out or back in the cage. This jar also has a thick glass lid. After cleaning the jar ,I returned the glass jar to the cage and reattached the plastic spigot. If you ever need to replace the spigot, you can probably find one on line very easy. All you will need to do is measure the hole on the Jar. I also think it might be a good idea to spray paint the "cage' with black Rustolum paint to prevent rust. I think that would stop the chance of rust over the years. You will need to replace the jar in the cage and attach the nozzle before filling it. I put water in the jar and next tried the nozzle. It turned easy, but it didn't fill the cup fast. It took a while. And also there was very little room to hold your cup under the noozle. You could fix this problem by either using the jar out of the cage. You could set it on something to elevate it. Or by dropping a piece of wood under where the jar sets. It would need to be 5 1/2 inches by 6 inches, and 1 1/4 inch thick. That would elevate the jar so you could get your cup under there easier. Also I checked for dripping,when I turned off the nozzle. No drips. I think this would be very decorative on a counter top.

Beautiful decanter.

This drink dispenser is unique and fun. It has found its forte as my new Halloween party drink server to its versatile design. It reminds me of a spooky haunted house. I set it up as part of a beverage station where guests can serve themselves all night leaving you, the host, with one less task to worry about. Find a drink recipe with what ever color drink you desire or to match your party theme and you"'ll be serving up some fun. I also added some glow in the dark eyeball ice cubes from the seasonal Halloween section of Wal-Mart for an extra effect. The design is sophisticated for grown ups or can be used for a kids party. It holds the perfect amount of liquid so that way you don't feel obligated to fill it to the top. The glass is thick and sturdy. The lid has a rubber lining so that it stays tightly closed with no clanking. The spigot is plastic so be careful when handling it. The frame is a nice looking black metal with a detailed design. Try to place the drink dispenser where it's going to be placed for party because it is heavy to carry once the liquid has been poured in. It is easy to take apart and clean. Quick note: The spigot has to be screwed apart to get the glass container out and in the metal house. I paired this with another Gibson beverage server that matched perfectly without being the exact same. Your guests will be delighted. It's a great conversational piece.

Party Perfect Drink Dispenser

I absolutely love the look of this super cute Gibson Home Payson 1.58 gal Glass Drink Dispenser with Black Metal Owl Rack. When it arrived I was eager to use it. Upon opening the box I could see that the Styrofoam was crushed and as I pulled out the dispenser the Styrofoam was falling everywhere, but I didn't let that little mishap with packing materials bother me. I got it all washed up with some warm soapy water (make sure you also wash the spout out) and it was ready for use. I made some sweet ice tea and lemons and filled the dispenser. It looked amazingly cute!!! The spout flows freely at a nice steady stream and did not leak at all when in the closed position. I love that the metal rack is black and it can go with a lot of different decors and makes a great party center piece. The dispenser can also be used alone without the rack as well. The only problems I have with this dispenser is that you have to use a little force in getting the dispenser in and out of the metal owl rack because the rubber stopper will get caught on each wire groove on the way in and out. I however don't think it is a major problem just a little aggravating. Also, you cannot take the dispenser out if the owl rack with drink inside and store it in the refrigerator because of the way it is made. I still recommend this product even with the small issues I found.

Super Cute Owl Dispenser

This Gibson Home Springerville 1.58 gal Glass Drink Dispenser set includes a 1.58 gl. oval glass dispenser, glass lid and a two piece basket stand made of iron and wicker in brown. The dispenser can be used for serving tea or lemonade at a casual dinner with the basket or in a formal setting with a silver tray under it or all by itself. Your family and friends will want one for themselves. This bit of luxurious container can also be used as a centerpiece. It will be the star of the dinner table. There is a spout which lets you know which way is open and which way is closed. It is also easy to read. The basket has a raised platform which makes it easy to place a glass under the spot. I recommend that you hand wash this glass container with mild soap and warm water and never in the dishwasher. Remember it can be used for a large family gathering or a very small intimate setting it will always add to the atmosphere. Can you just imagine a quiet evening with your family, a good meal, and a nice cold glass of lemonade or whatever you like to drink.

Wonderful for the holidays

So I was really excited to receive the Gibson Home Pinetop 1.32 gallon Glass Drink Dispenser with Basket Top Metal Rack, through the Spark Reviewer program. I wanted to use this during the holidays, for a true test! It comes really well packaged, which made it quite a process to open up. Once out of the box, I was excited to see how pretty it was. I filled it with a Christmas cocktail for a holiday party, and it stayed cold for quite some time. The glass was very heavy duty, and hard to move around once full. I was able to push it to the edge of my table, so my guests were able to put a cup underneath to fill it. The spout is small, so it did take some time to fill my guests cups, and that was a bummer. I would think this would be perfect for smaller parties or a family get together. The biggest downside for me was cleaning it. You have to remove the glass container from metal cage for cleaning, and like I said the glass is pretty heavy. The spout also has to be removed for the dispenser in order to be remove it from the cage. All in all this product is good, but not great!!

I received this drink dispenser as part of the spark reviewer program for product rating purposes. I choose this because I needed a small water dispenser for the kitchen...so now let's start with the review:
Since the dispenser is glass made, I was worried because of in the shipping and handling the dispenser could be damaged, but you don't need to worry about this, the product comes packaged very well, it comes in the box securely and snug with dry ice inserts so it won't even move if you take it upside down and back again.
After you unpack it you will need to remove the liquid dispenser/tap/faucet since is turned inward, you can remove it by hand (and you must) because is a plastic part and can be easily damaged. Now, since I have mentioned that the faucet is plastic made (looks really cheap), this is the first weak point of the product, you must be careful to not press it too much hard since it feels like it can be broken really easy, but maybe you can get a nicest faucet at the hardware store so you can keep using the glass bottle, which is really nice.
The second downside is the basket that supports the glass bottle...it feels like if you fill the bottle up to the top it will collapse, making your nice glass bottle fall and break to pieces. What I did on mine was use the dry ice pieces that came with the packaging and placed them inside the basket so it has an additional support.
So, my final opinion is: very nice, but the manufacturer needs to focus on its quality and change some materials of the product. Maybe you can just place this at the top of one of your kitchen shelves without the basket base.

OK, but quality could be better

I really like the dispenser. I like the rectangle shape. The dispenser holds over a gallon of beverage of your choice. The knob on the dispenser works well. The beverage flows well when the knob is in the open position and shut off well in the off position. The down side of the product is it base. The base is poorly constructed. The base will not hold up if it gets wet and with it being a beverage container; it is only a matter of time before it will loose all it shape. This product will work will at a fall festival, but is not elegant enough for formal events. The dispenser can sit on the counter top without the base.

Needs a new base

This Gibson Home Tolleson set includes a wicker basket with a piece of metal attached and a decorative 1.32 gal square glass jar … The base is just a POORLY made Taupe-colored wicker basket turned upside down, with a very flimsy piece of discolored, square-shaped metal that's wired to it. I had to reshape the metal, which was bent horribly, in order for the square glass container to sit properly on top of the base. When the jar is filled with liquid it causes the wicker stand to become somewhat distended therefore the entire set looks as though it's leaning. The Glass jar is definitely the saving grace for this set. It comes with a nice solid glass lid that fits the jar perfectly and a plastic spigot with “open” and “closed” labeling on the handle. The glass dispenser itself seems to be solidly made, but remember , when attaching the spigot make sure the plastic ring that holds it in place, is as tight as you can get it , if not, you will definitely have a leak on your hands. (SO Guilty)
I was definitely not happy with this product due to the stand being so poorly made. I would suggest just purchasing the Glass drink dispenser individually and try creating your own stand if one is needed… Or find a better quality stand for your Glass drink dispenser.

The Glass Dispenser was OK The Base was Not...

I am almost at a loss for words in describing my disappointed reaction to this glass drink dispenser.
If I cared to, the basket weave bottom could have been painted a more pleasing color, but it still would have been flimsy at best.
I was hoping to put it to use as something more elegant, or even family friendly, than the simple glass pitcher which I now use for various drinks. I'd say it could be used in a very casual setting on a picnic table during the summer months, but it is bulky and top heavy and would be troublesome to use. It wouldn't take much use as the small spigot is made of painted plastic.
There is a slight raised design on the clear glass container, but it does nothing to improve my overall impression of this item.
The only positive thing I could mention is that it was packaged properly and arrived safely.
I have owned a drink dispenser previously but that was much more attractively made.
My personal thought to anyone who is considering purchasing this dispenser is to save your money.
I chose this item through the Spark Reviewer program and am sorry to say, I have never been so disappointed in a product. It is low quality throughout.
I'm trying to imagine what I can use this for. Maybe as a cookie jar after removing the spigot and not using the base.
