1. Loosen and remove the cap from the oil tank (flip up the green tab for grip).
2. Put the oil into the oil tank (with chainsaw on it's side).
3. Monitor the oil indicator to make sure that no dirt in the oil tank while you add the oil.
4. Put the oil cap on.
5. Tighten the oil cap.
6. Check oil level every 5-10 minutes.

Saw runs and cuts grteat. Batt lasts a long time. A large tree fell in my drivway and I dut it up and still had 3/4 power left. . No more reparing my chain saw.

This is my 3rd GW product.  Their customer service is second to none.  There was a problem with the 14” original unit.  Shout out to Keppler and Dakota for figuring out the issue and replacing the unit.  I buy GW products because of the ease of all products…it is by far the best part.

I bought this saw a few weeks ago based on the good reviews. This saw definitley meets my expectations; light weight, plenty of power, and good battery usage. My first experience was cutting up a pine tree that fell during the winter. Easily limbed the tree and cut through 8" diameter trunk.

This saw is awesome

This chainsaw is fabulous. It's light-weight and very quiet. The battery charge lasts a long time. I've cut cords of wood while clearing invasive trees from my yard. It cuts logs thicker than I thought it would. I love it!

40V Cordless 14" Brushless Chainsaw w/ 2.5 Ah Batt

I was thinking about buying one of the larger Greenworks chainsaws. I'm glad I didn't.  Now that I have cut down about a dozen trees (some with a 10-inch diameter), I know that the 14-inch version has all the size & power I need. It's a truly excellent, well-designed tool.

Bought the chainsaw three months ago and all of a sudden it just quit working it doesn't run anymore or no longer works doesn't even make any noise

Work great for small project

This is not a good saw. The battery doesn't last for about 15 minutes or 20. The automatic boiler does not work. I think you'd be better off to spend a little more money and get a Stihl.

I wouldn't buy the saw it's just not that good

Manufacturers description states “Up to 75 cuts on 4 x 4 lumber per charge”.
I'm only able to use the saw for about 10 minutes, approximately 6 or 7 cuts before the battery dies.

Product description far overstates battery use

I will never buy this brand again, mostly because of their customer support. I bought a chainsaw and used it the first time. Quite frankly, it was doing a great job on a fallen tree in my yard. But after about 45 minutes, I laid it down to take some limbs to my burn pile and when I picked it back up, nothing happened. It was if the battery was dead, even though it still showed a 3/4 charge. Still thinking it's a battery issue, I charged it back up, still nothing. So, on my way from work, I called customer support and the lady asked me some questions, including model and serial number. I pulled to the side of the road, literally about a minute from my house. I answered all her questions and told her the problem, at which point she began to ask about the charger lights. I told her I was almost home and would tell her what the lights were doing, even though I had already told her what the lights were doing, when I charged it. She said, “well sir, you'll have to call back when you get home”. I said I'm a minute from the house, hang on just a second and I'll tell you (again, even though I had done told her what they were doing, which was showing fully charged) anyhow again she said, “you'll have to call back, when you get home”. Which is where I would already been, if I had not pulled over to answer her model and serial number questions. Customers who spend their hard earned money on products that last less than hour need better customer support and respect than I received. I'll simply return it and buy someone else's product. May I'll get more than an hours service out of it and certainly better customer support.
