Perfect for a Homeowner

I have had mine for almost 3 years. I am very pleased, both with performance and durability. As a older woman on the farm, this chainsaw is very useful for smaller projects, and yet my husband and I have cut a lot of firewood with it in the past 3 years.  I have recommended this product to many people, and will continue to do so.

Extremely happy

This is the 4th Greenworks tool I purchased, and it's performance is beyond my expectations. It cuts with ease through any size log or tree, and the battery retains charge for hours of cutting. Well worth the price. Best part is is not having to deal with hard starting gas saws that stall out and have to be restarted. It runs flawlessly til you are ready to stop.

i really like the saw it is very quiet,lighter than gas power,comes with a 2 amp battery,a second battery by itself is 120 dollars are more,they make 4 and 5 amp but 200 to 400 dollars for a battery a lot.saw cuts great,Ive cut small and big trees with it,i take my gas saws too for when battery goes out,but if you had a small generator only takes 30 mins to recharge.cant use in rain either.like the window where you can see oil as you add it so it doesn't over fill

I cut 10-12 cords of firewood annually along with general brushing and property maintenance.  In my first week of ownership, I cut about two cords of softwood and a cord of hard maple.  
The saw cuts like a champ and the battery lasted longer cutting soft pine than my need for a break.  Cutting the hardwood, the battery gave out before I did but not by much.  
While the battery life is good, it's the only reason I didn't give it a five.  Since I cut primarily on my own property and close to a recharging port, I would rate it a five for my cutting style.. If your cutting a long ways from electric recharge options it would make a short cutting day.
The battery recharges in about 1/2 hour as advertised and the saw cuts hard until battery dies and then it quits.
If you have recharge options close to your cutting site, you'll probably never pull on that gas starter cord again.  I haven't.

Try It....You'll love it

It does what its supposed to and cuts nicely. I have only used it once so far to cut up the trunk of a tree about 20' long and about 8" across. It did the job smoothly and quickly. I'd guess I used about 2/3 of the battery on the job. It probably about as heavy as an equivalent gas unit, but because mine won't be used very often I didn't want to deal with stale gas and gummed up saw every time I took if off the shelf.

Good saw

This chainsaw's flaw is that the cap for the chain oil sticks out. On the fourth day of using the saw, a limb I cut struck the cap as it fell and knocked it off. I plan on replacing it with a rubber stopper which is actually a better design than the original as it should survive impacts. Other chainsaws have caps that are flush with the body to prevent damage. You don't want to have anything sticking out in case something hits it and knocks the chainsaw out of your hands while it is running. That's why this is a potentially fatal flaw. Other than this one flaw, I would have given it a five star review as it cuts amazingly well and is really quiet (no ear protection needed). The photo shows a Husqvarna chainsaw with a recessed chain oil cap compared to the Greenworks chainsaw with a (now missing) exterior cap.

A great electric chainsaw with one fatal flaw

Comes in case unassembled.  The owner's manual is worthless for telling a newbie how to put install the chain and bar.  What made matters even worse was the tensioner was made of some cheap stamped pot metal and the threads stripped while I was trying to install the bar and chain.  Needless to say this is going back to the dealer tonight and I am purchasing a different brand.

Parts are made cheap but come at a big cost.

Very disappointed. Battery was defective. Charged it all night only to find out battery was bad.
