I was looking at a more known brand bike for over $400 plus it would have been unasyembled. This bike has front and rear disk breaks, simple nine speed trigger shift system, and is sturdy enough for an over six foot person just under three hundred pounds.

Great value for big and all riders

It's a very good bike, my husband an I were able to assemble following the instructions provided, saving us that $100. Only down side is the seat is a bit uncomfortable because it's so small, so we plan on getting a cover maybe that helps. It rides smoothly and it was easy to pump the tires. My husband loved his bike.

Very good bike

Got this bike to help with my fitness. I have been walking for a while and decided to do something more challenging since I can’t run much because of my knees. And I’m totally glad I got this bike. The other day I went on a 1 hour bike ride and ended up going 9 miles on that ride burned more calories than my 1 hour walks that’s for sure. I did have to change up the seat for a wider one. I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone that is looking for a better way to get your cardio in.

Great bike

My husband has been looking for a bike since COVID-19 began and is so very pleased to have acquired this one! While many of the reviews mention weak components, he has found it to be a very competent neighborhood bike: great for roads, trails & grassy hills. He's a bigger guy these days (6'1" and 250#) and found it supports him just fine. 

It came mostly assembled (see photo), and took less than an hour to complete assembly and make personal adjustments. While he thinks the vibrant blue color is great and the disc brake is effective, his favorite aspect of the bike is the shifting: fingers for upshifting, thumb for downshifting, and more pressure applied to shift multiple gears quickly.

The kids are thrilled to have Dad out riding with them. We hope to enjoy this bike for years of family fun.

Great Neighborhood Bike

I just received the 29" Hyper Men's Explorer Mountain bike. My old bike really needed to be replaced and I was concerned about the replacement bike because I am right at 6' tall and I weigh right at 260 lbs. This bike is rated for up to 275 pounds so it should be a great fit for me. The bike was well packed in a heavy duty cardboard box. I unpacked it and had it together in about 15 minutes. After adjusting the seat and airing up the tires to 35 psi I took it for a spin. The front suspension is really nice since I hit a couple of concrete ridges that were about 2 or 3 inches high and the suspension handled it really well. The shifter works smoothly and shifting up or down was really easy and smooth. The only issue I have had is adjusting the rear derailleur could have been easier. I will probably need to play with the 'lower' limit a little in order to be sure the lower gears engage correctly. This is a typical issue on a multi-speed bike so I am not going to take off any points for that. I have to say that I was really impressed with the front and rear disc brakes and the bike will stop on a dime. This is a really beautiful bike and I will enjoy many miles of riding in the future.

Nice bike for a big guy

Hyper 29 Explorer Men's Hard Tail Mountain Bike is a great fit for my fiancee who is 6'1". He likes how smooth it is to ride and that it's very comfortable. His favorite thing about it is the way that it shifts gears. It's a paddle shifter and it's so much easier to use than a crank shifter. He says that all you have to do to change gears is tap it with his finger. The seat is very comfortable for him and the peddles work nice for a bigger size foot. The bike is a har tail which means that it doesn't have back suspension, but he said that it feels more comfortable to ride than his previous bike with both front and back suspension. Overall he was very impressed with everything about the bike. The color blue looks really nice.

Smooth ride

I received the Hyper Explorer Hard Trail Mountain Bike from the Spark Review Program. This bike was intended for my 17 year old son, who is almost 6 feet tall and still growing, so the 29 inch wheels are a good size for him. It needed assembly upon arrival, so my son, my husband, and I all assisted with this. We have assembled plenty of things in the past, but not a bike! The directions were not very clear or easy to follow. We ended up having to take apart and reassemble some of the pieces. I wish the directions had been a little more straight forward, but, between the three of us, we got it put together in about 45 minutes. 

It is a really good looking bike! The blue color is really appealing. It feels very sturdy and strong; able to support my son safely. He immediately took it out and he said it was a very comfortable ride. The seat is on the smaller side, but comfortable, he said. There is a clicking sound however, that he needs to address. We aren’t sure if it’s the brakes, the pedals, etc so he has to take some time to troubleshoot. 

Overall, this is a really nice mountain bike! I would recommend it but if you’re not familiar with bike assembly, I would either find someone knowledgeable to help you with assembly or plan to spend some extra time figuring it out. It’s not brain surgery, but it’s definitely not plug and play!
