This is a heavy duty chest! The rubber latches are great and seem like they will last longer than those flimsy plastic hinge latches. The handles are comfortable and big to handle a very full cooler.
Not sure if I'm ever going to use the bottle opener, but its s nice touch. The drain plug is attached by a metal cable so you dont lose it. Igloo went all out on this ice chest. Except it does not have wheels so its a little difficult to transport if you cant carry heavy items. Color is nice, nothing flashy or neon, but not black either. This cooler is very durable and well made. The lid shuts down tight, and it comes with a place to put a padlock.

This cooler is very durable and well made. The lid shuts down tight. The box itself is made with high quality materials. The cooler has convenient rubber handles which keeps it shut tight. There is a drain to remove excess water. It comes with a padlock system and a bottle opener. The igloo itself is well insulated. The only disadvantage is that it does not have wheels and transporting this can scratch the cooler itself. This is a very efficient cooler. With summer around the corner, I highly recommend this product.

Very durable and efficient cooler

These walls are a lot thicker than I thought they would be! Especially when compared to other "long lasting" coolers. After leaving a gallon jug of ice in it in the Southwest Sun all day, barely any of it had melted! Overall, I really like this cooler. The handles are comfortable and beefy enough to handle a very full cooler. The rubber latches are a nice touch and seem like they will last longer than the flimsy plastic hinge latches. Not sure if I'm ever going to use the bottle opener, but it looks like a good size padlock will fit in there and keep things safe from all of those other overlanders when out on the trail. Color is nice, nothing flashy or neon, but not black either. Feels sturdy enough to stand on when you don't have a stool handy. Overall, I think this cooler will work very well for us and our adventures

comparable quality, great price, works well

Wow this is a really nice very well-built Igloo cooler. I really like the silicone handle grip which helps when it's full and heavy! I also like the rubberized closure and boxy shape (vs more rectangular) as this also makes it easier to carry. The only thing that I would have like to see different is for the water from the melted ice to be able to drain completely out of the cooler when using the drain plug. There was still about half of water bottle worth of water left in the bottom even after picking it up and dumped it out )making sure to channel the water towards the drain hole). It also has a bottle opener on the front which can also accommodate a lock.

igloo is stepping it up!

I'm extremely happy with my new igloo ice chest . This is a heavy duty chest! Keeps my food cood for day especially when parked in the shade . I love the new rubber latches ! The days of plastic creeky latches that break over time are gone! I love the drain plug that's attached by a metal cable along with a fantastic bottle opener . Igloo went all out on this ice chest . If you looking for an ice chest this summer give this one a look .

Just in time for camping .

This is a really nice quality cooler. It holds a lot! The inside is well insulated and it has a built in bottle opener which is super cool. The handles flip up for easy carrying. It has a place to lock it closed if you don't want anyone steeling your drinks. We're looking forward to using it more during boating season. The only cons I will say are it has some weight to it even when empty and the handles looked dirty on arrival. I'm hoping to be able to clean them with the hose.

Really nice cooler

Igloo Overland chest cooler Non-rolling 50 Qt. This cooler by Igloo isn't as heavy as I thought it would be empty. Fully loaded though, it can get heavy depending on the contents. Comfort grip handles, leak resistant drain plug,, treated liner, rubber latches, oversized hinges, UV inhibitors, and a bottle opener. Igloo is Made in the USA! Huge bonus when I can buy American made. Igloo suggests.re-chilling cooler and contents before using. Being as it is below zero here chilling cooler was easy but in summer? And I always freeze or refrigerate foods/soda before loading. 1 1/2 inch foam insulated walls and lid work as they should, keeping soda chilled for three to four days without opening lid. Melt was also minimal during this time. Constantly opening the lid and exposing to 75° air causes block ice melting rapidly to about two days. Still not a hindrence at all, as it's the same with our other heavily insulated cooler. We use coolers in the summer for hauling frozen food from the grocery store, not just when we go RV-ing. There is no weight limit listed as coolers make a nice seat around the camp fire. It feels very sturdy so if someone sits on it I have no fear of damage. It's not tippy either which is a nice feature. You can also attach two locks or chains for an anti-theft deterrent. Disappointed that there is no rubber seal between the lid and base, only Con so far. Overall I really like it, and the color is great too.

Not as heavy as I thought it would be.

Got this ice chest to take on long trips to keep some soft drinks and water cold and it does the job perfectly. We went on a 12 hour trip and the drinks not only stayed cold the ice was only less than half way melted. I will definitely recommend this ice chest to any of my friends and family.

Great ice chest

This cooler is a lower priced alternative to some of the higher (overpriced in my opinion) name brands and has some of the same design features in very attractive package – but it does not disappoint. Even though this is the 50 qt size and not the largest 70 qt size of this Igloo line, it is still a monster and has a lot of capacity. The cooler itself is not that heavy, but once you have it loaded with drinks and ice, it is a heavy load. I would recommend getting a cart to pull it with if you have to go any distance (end of a pier, etc.). As it claims, it keeps the ice frozen and drinks cold for days. High performance at this level of price. The t-handle thick rubber straps that keep the top closed are heavy duty and require two hands to latch. I would expect after they are broken in, they would loosen up some but still do their job. There is also a metal plate on the cooler that can be secured to the top with a padlock, etc. (it also doubles as a bottle opener) The handles are heavy duty plastic with nice thick textured pieces of rubber to grip to. The cooler has a nice sturdy (tethered) drain plug that seems to seal very well. One other plus is that the cooler is made in USA (Texas). This is a good performing cooler for the price.

Bought for upcoming trip. Did a Walmart pick up order and when I got home I noticed that it looked used. There was debris and water spots in the bottom. It also looks poorly made with glue oozing from sides. It looks horrible (pics included)
