Great picture for a curved ips. No ghosting or smearing

Ultrawide

Amazing monitor with a great deal at almost half its original price while on sale. The monitor itself has great functionality and great visuals. For my specific case it was TOO good for what I actually have and ended up going with something less powerful which achieved my desired result

Gamed on a 27" 1440p for many years before grabbing this monitor, what an upgrade. The colors are great, motion in games is wonderful. I have had no issues, arrived with zero dead pixels. I anticipate using this monitor for many years to come.

What an upgrade

The first ultrawide monitor I purchased was an entry-level Dell 34" but ended up returning it as I was not a fan of the VA panel and how the color shifted at the sides and when viewed slightly above or below from center.

Next I bought a high-end Alienware OLED 34".  I own nothing but OLED TV's in my home, so I was really excited to experience an OLED monitor for the first time. Being an OLED I knew it would have infinite contrast and true blacks.  Playing a couple games on it was awesome, just as good as my TV's. However, when I started using it for work or web browsing the text made my eyes feel like I needed glasses, due to what is termed "color fringing", so I reluctantly returned the OLED monitor.

Enter this LG, my third attempt at an ultrawide display.  This midrange IPS monitor is fantastic for the money!  IPS displays have better viewing angles than VA panels, and the color throughout the entire panel appears nice and even.  There's very minimal backlight bleed.  I did take a step down in maximum framerates from my previous 27" HP Omen 165hz monitor, but the drop to 144hz is not very noticeable at all.  Yes, this one can overclock to 160hz, but at the cost of dropping from 10-bit color to 8... not a tradeoff I'm willing to make.  I'll take the much smoother looking colors with no banding at its factory 144hz setting.

Even though I'm an OLED TV snob, I am completely happy with this LG, especially for the price I paid compared to all OLED monitors.  I won't even look at OLED monitors until the color fringing issue is resolved, which is too bad because the OLED TV's are absolutely stunning. 

Keep in mind that this LG gaming monitor is basically the same as the 34GP83A model by LG, but that one costs about a hundred more.  Buy this version and save some money!  Check rtings reviews for each and see for yourself how they are pretty much identical from a display standpoint.

Even in 2024, this LG monitor is probably the best ultrawide monitor purchase you can make for both games and work without getting close to $1000 monitor territory.  I highly recommend it!

Best midrange Ultrawide as of 2024

The claims about OLED monitors are true. Compared to my old IPS monitor sitting next to it, the IPS colors look washed out.

Believe The Hype

This monitor is a great upgrade from my acer 16:9 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor! I was having a hard time choosing between this and the Samsung Odyssey G7 and so far I'm not disappointed. This was the more pricier option. It ticks a lot of boxes for me and it's great so far. I've used it for less than month now and so far I'm impressed. There's only minor nit picks I don't like. The screen has minimal light bleed but that is typical for a IPS panel (it is very minimal). It is a little less than my Acer. It does require some set up and research for more accurate colors but not bad out of the box. If some thing happens down the line I will write it on a forum or here if I'm able to give it a update or on another platform.

An impressive IPS high refresh ultrawide monitor!

SO I have the Ultragear 32" Monitor and love it. SO I decided to get this version so my son can use the other one. Delivery was 1 day ground which was fast, setup was easy. I use these for PS% and XBOX X. Now boot up ( PS5 ) was fine but the screen looked slightly zoomed in, font was big. Messed around with the PS5 res and i think it was some what better. Ok so I boot up a game and it black screen to start.. I notice on the top 15% of the screen is soft white flickering across the top. ( It only does this with certain games ) and then while in game I'll see black lined flickering on the screen. 

I reas that it was most likly the Premium VSYNC. I turned it OFF but the White on black screen flickering was still there nd the other flickering I couldnt really tell if it was still doing so. Has any one encountered this? Any recommendations with a Console setup for this monitor..

worth the price

LG is one of the best monitor manufacturer's in the world, and this monitor is one of the highest rated ultrawide 1440P gaming monitors on the market. When I first received it, it delivered on everything. Great and vibrant colors, great contrast (for IPS), excellent response times and good viewing angles.

However, the two monitors I had ran into serious issues. The first monitor had very noticeable brightness dimming on the edges, causing a bizarre vignetting effect on all content, including documents and websites.

As a result, I returned the monitor and got a replacement, the brightness issues were fixed, but the replacement monitor ended up being defective as well and I got a big blue line on the right side. 

I'm not sure if this is LG's fault, or potentially something strange happening with FedEx shipping or Walmart themselves. But its quite bizarre that I got two bad units in a row, and this is arguably the best ultrawide IPS gaming monitor on the market.

Regardless, I've asked for a refund and won't be buying this monitor again.
