Buttons are of good quality and feel. The mouse glides easily across mouse pads. Battery life is pretty good with rechargeable batteries - with the batteries I use (EBL brand AA) I get about a month or two of use on a charge - it's hard to gauge exactly because I don't keep close tabs on battery recharge frequency.
My only slight beef is the relative slight noisiness of the keyboard keys when struck, but that's to be expected with keyboards of this button type, which I prefer. It doesn't bother me at all - I'm used to it. I like this style keyboard because the slightly concave surfaces of each key self-center your fingers on the buttons, and the small gaps between the keys make it easier for the fingers to discern each key and to avoid striking unintended keys vs. chiclit-style keyboards.
One other small thing to note is that the little indentations in the wrist pad and mouse grip rubber collect dust over time and take a little scrubbing to clean maybe twice a year - not a big deal - their benefits to look and feel outweigh the cleaning aspect in my mind.
Logitech really hit it right with the "WAVE" concept. It feels a lot nicer ergonomically typing with this keyboard's finger-length attentive key height variance. At the same time, it takes very little getting used to typing with this keyboard and contributes less to finger muscle and joint fatigue after long hours of typing versus a standard non-ergonomic keyboard. It's similar enough to a standard keyboard that when you're using one instead of this keyboard you won't strike a ton of unintended keys.
Small holes are even built into the bottom of each keyboard section - so that, should you spill something across your keyboard, the liquid will drain out, making it less likely that the keyboard will be shorted out as a result.
I used this set for my computer all through college. I liked it so much I bought another set for my work computer. Just a very nice, well-designed product. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The mouse is very good, too. It's heavier than most other mice, which I very much like. And I can use the side buttons to control the PC sound volume. Very convenient.
Note that the keys will tend to get sluggish after extended use, the result of friction. I have three of these keyboards, and that happened to all three of them.
The fix is to remove all of the keys (just pry them up with a flat blade screwdriver), and smear a THIN coating of lithium grease around the outside of the key plunger, one at a time. Replace each key ... and they regain their smooth action. This fix has lasted for over five years.
I always buy ergonomic keyboards. As a programmer, I do a lot of typing on a daily basis so I am very concerned about carpal tunnel and other issues related to typing on a keyboard. The board is slightly angled in a winged fashion from the middle of the keyboard with a small indentation in the keyboard making the keys surrounding the D on your left hand and the K on your right hand slightly lower than the other keys. To be honest, I never quite got used to this particular feature of the keyboard. I am good, not great, typist but I found that I miss keys in this indented area fairly often. But I miss keys on no matter what keyboard I use and I wouldn't say I miss more on this one. Such is the life of a flaky typist!
Connectivity
I love the way this connects. I have a logitech M705 mouse so I did not use the mouse that came with this set. The reason, by the way, is the mouse that comes with this set does not have the Hyperscroll feature that I absolutely must have in any mouse I use. Only certain Logitech mice have it. So I had my other M705 mouse already hooked up to my computer and inserted the batteries into this keyboard and turned it on. Boom. Windows 7 found my keyboard, installed the driver and done. No hassle. Didn't even have to use the micro usb plug receiver that came with this device. Can now use the same one for both my keyboard and my existing M705 mouse. Be aware however that this could cause a problem if you have another of the same keyboards in close proximity of this multi-device micro usb plug receiver. Not sure how to handle that but I'm sure you can. Also note that I replaced my old Microsoft 6000 v2.0 with this keyboard. The 6000 had a real problem missing keys because of connectivity issues. It's like it missed the signal. I did not have that problem with this keyboard.
Keys Issue
My C key paint has completely rubbed off and I've read that others have had this issue with other keys. It's not that old and should not have this issue. That actually is very irritating.
Mouse
I cannot tell you much about the mouse as I haven't used it. As I said, I don't use it because the lack of the Hyperscroll feature found on certain Logitech mice.
Peripheral keys
The function keys are bit lower than the number keys and I found that a little harder to get to.
I really like the up down volume keys and the mute button placement.
Conclusion
All in all this a solid keyboard with good functionality. I like the feel of my 6000 better than this one but I couldn't stand the missed keys so I'll be staying with this one for a while.
Top reviews from other countries
The good: Very comfortable and accurate for touch-typing. The keys have a good travel distance and feel which interestingly results in fewer typos than typical for me (eg on a laptop keyboard). The ergonomic contours and fixed palm rest are very comfortable for extended use, even if they are not as exaggerated as some of the more "medically proper" ergonomic designs out there. Wireless is of course a big plus, especially with the included standard Logitech nano-dongle.
The okay: I'm not a fan of the extra large media buttons at the top, since I rarely use them, and it makes the keyboard larger than it really had to be, especially for smaller desks. But if you frequently use "volume up/down/mute/play/pause/next track/previous track" buttons while working, you might appreciate them more. The good news here is that the media buttons work for pausing or skipping tracks in Spotify web player even when it's running in the background, and you're working in a different browser window or application in the foreground.
