front opening is 20". back opening 28". I have a 21" monitor and it needs to be back just a little for clearance. Speakers will have to go on top, not along side monitor. Adjustable speaker could go on right desktop under pigeonholes and that would work.

I have a 48" monitor and it fits fine. I would say possibly a 56" would be the max you could place in there.

how big is the opening for the monitor from side to side?

it should work if you are not needing room for keyboard or mouse

This is not very sturdy, so I would not trust placing anything as valuable and expensive as a t.v. on it.

My 24" barely fits in the opening for the monitor.

I would say yes as long as you have a chair that has adjustable height. If not, I would sit in your chair and measure the distance from your legs up to 30" then subtract whatever depth the keyboard tray is and see if you have enough space left for you to be comfortable.

I think there is probably room but it may be awkward because the desk is curved in the space where you would be sitting so the tray would have to be pulled out really far.

There might be because it's high enough, but the main board is curved. I don't know how a straight keyboard would look with it.

I love this unit so much that this is the 4th one that I've purchased . . . it's a nice cherry finish, has a great usage height with lots of shelf space, it can even have a keyboard shelf installed without taking up hardly any knee room . . . it easily fits into a corner or against a wall & I've utilized it both ways . . . the only negative reason for my having purchased 4 of these is that whenever I've moved I would have had to disassemble the top shelving portion to get it out of the room doorways I've placed it in because of its overall size (I'd only have to remove 4 phillips head screws, but I'm lazy), which wouldn't be too bad, but it's just as easy for me to leave it behind for the next person & buy another because of its low cost & ease of assembling a new one . . . lol . . . so I've helped several others out by leaving it behind for them!!!

It's was what I wanted , it looks great, and it saved me some space the way it is designed. So far, everything I order online from Walmart meets my needs. I don't only shop online, I also go to our store every weekend. y favorite shopping place. Thank You Walmart.

This is a great desk for my college daughter! It went together fairly easy, but don't lose a nail because there are no extra ones. The back panels are laminate card board but it's just to keep books from falling out back. The black finish is more like a dark brown to me. I love the hutch area , lots of storage space.  The design is sleek and modern. Daughter loves it.

I read lots of the reviews before I bought 2 of these and I was scared at first that we would have problems with the assembly. My husband read the directions STEP BY STEP and I put in the parts. We were careful that we had all pieces facing the right direction etc. It took us 3 hours for the first one and a little over 2 for second. If you take your time this desk will go together beautifully. It does take 2 people to do it right I think.
Our room has a sloping ceiling starting at 4 feet and these worked perfectly in each corner as will keep us from hitting our heads. Because it is 51 inches tall or so it is only a couple inches out from the wall. There is so much space with all the shelving and plenty of desk space. Used only a screwdriver and a hammer and a used a power screwdriver on only the screws, the rest by hand. I attached a picture...don't they look great!

Great Bargain and Great Desk

Let's start by acknowledging the low cost of this product and that for that price you do not get top of the line furniture. What you do get is a good looking functional piece that will give years of service with reasonable care. I bought two of these and both arrived complete and without damage. The wood parts are composite wood,(read particle board) with applied printed wood grain. The parts are all identified and pre-drilled. The instructions are clear and used illustrations with very little text. They are easy to follow. I spent about 1 1/2 hours assembling both units. I spent more time on the first to make sure I was familiar with the parts and procedure. Once assembled the units are robust and attractive.  I would prefer a sliding keyboard drawer and may add one, but for now the units serve the purpose.
