I received this bench about two weeks ago. I assembled the majority of it the night I got it and finished it the next night. All together, it took less than two hours to assemble. I was curious about several things that I didn't see answered anywhere, so I'll go ahead and answer a few questions I had. First, the bench can withstand 600 total pounds (user's weight + lifting weight). You will need a few tools (I believe I used a socket wrench and a 10 mm socket, but don't quote me on that), but everything else is provided.
There are numerous reasons why I gave 5 stars for this bench.
1. The bench feels very, very stable when I'm lifting. I have the bowflex adjustable dumbbells (5-90 lbs) and routinely use 90lbs/dumbbell. When doing this, I haven't even felt the bench move. I also have a Cap bench that feels quite unstable when lifting this much weight (one of the reasons for this purchase). Granted, the other bench was cheaper, but this bench feels solid.
2. There are multiple positions available to do numerous lifts. You can do decline, flat and incline chest presses and you can move the bench part to 3 different locations to ensure your lifting from a comfortable location. I haven't tried the shoulder press yet, so I don't know if the positioning is awkward, but it looks normal to me (I know, really helpful stuff there). The preacher curl can easily be removed or change the position of it, so it's not in your way during other lifts.
3. There are two different locations to put the squat rack attachments in, ultimately allowing more flexibility. I'm able to use either one. However, if you're under 5'-5" or so (my guess), it may be difficult to squat using this.
4. The leg attachment can be locked in the down position, which is nice when doing other lifts. That way, it isn't swinging around when you don't want it to be.
5. The seat is nice and big (both wide and long). Again, my Cap bench has a miniscule seat and makes it a little awkward when doing one handed presses.
6. The preacher curl attachment is easily removable/addable as necessary.
7. There is TONS of room to use dumbbells with this, in addition to barbells. There are a lot of benches where it can become cramped when using dumbbells. I found this to be kind of annoying, even at gyms with commercial grade equipment. Now, I do have to move the barbell attachments (easily done). However, there is plenty of room for me to use my dumbbells when I feel like it.
I have found some minor flaws. Some affect me and others have not.
1. The bench takes up a LOT of room. If you account for the room needed for squatting, a 7' bar and the rotation of the leg curls/extensions, this bench has a pretty massive footprint. I have an unfinished basement, so it's not terrible for me. But, it probably needs something close to a 8' x 12' space.
2. The seat seems to wiggle a little much. I haven't noticed it AT ALL while I'm lifting. However, I moved the bench the other day and it didn't seem as secure as I was expecting. As I just said, this doesn't seem to be a big deal and I'm sure it's fine, since I haven't felt it at all while I'm lifting, just an observation.
3. The preacher curl bar is kind of close to the leg curl bars. I actually hit the leg curl bar a few times with dumbbells while doing preacher curls. However, I have now raised the preacher curl attachment up to where the pin is holding the entire thing up (rather than being in one of the holes, I fully inserted the pin and then put the preacher curl attachment in, ergo the pin is holding up the attachment). Now it's a little high and I have to stand to do preacher curls. Not a big deal in my book and shouldn't be a big deal to anyone who has a curl bar. I personally found the preacher curl bar provided to be crap, but others may want to use it.
4. Using heavy dumbbells can make for some awkwardness with this bench. There's a lot going on and the seat is nice and big. All in all, that's a pro. However, when trying to kick your legs over the seat, with dumbbells in your hand, it can become a little awkward.
I haven't used the leg extension part yet, but my wife seems to like it a lot.
Some reviews were harsh on the seat and back as being unstable but they are satisfactory on their own and completely stable with any amount of weight on them. The only potential issues are the leg extension station might be an issue for shorter legs, and the squat rack will be a challenge for anyone shorter than 5'5''. The spotter bars work very well for the flat bench but don't provide much value for incline or decline, but this is not a major concern. All in all a great product and worth the price compared to the others seen on the site.
My biggest complaint is actually the packaging - the packaging was never designed to hold up to residential shipping. When I received it, all the pieces were rattling around in the box and most everything had scuffs/scratches/dings and a couple of parts were missing - presumably out of the holes in the side of the box!
Assembly was easy and relatively straightforward - I would attach the seat portions before bolting them on, but otherwise the instructions were more than adequate. Do install all fasteners snugly before tightening them down.
The squat stand is solid and I appreciate that it goes low enough for a proper bench setup and high enough to do a high bar squat (I'm 6'1"). It is also wide enough for a 7' Olympic Style bar, but narrow enough for a 5' bar if you're short on space. The weight storage is nice and provides a bit more stability for the squat stand. I do wish that the screw in bosses were longer so that you couldn't have to remove the locking handles completely to raise/lower the supports. It would have cost them next to nothing and would have, in my opinion, made the squat stands much nicer. There is no provision for safety spotters - if you're lifting at that high a level, you shouldn't be looking at this equipment.
The bench is actually quite nice - mine goes exactly flat (some other reviews said that it doesn't actually go flat, but mine doesn't appear to have that problem). it is solid and doesn't wobble. Adjusting the back is quick and easy and appears to be strong enough that I'd feel very comfortable lifting up to 2-300# on it.
Okay... The main reason why I got this was I wanted a preacher curl setup and for the price, I got the squat rack basically for free... Unfortunately, the preacher setup is the weakest part of the whole setup. It is very wobbly, annoying to adjust and I'm skeptical about it holding up for the long term. Also, if you want to use an actual curl bar instead of their sort of weird handle thing, the leg developer gets in the way at the lower extension and there is no good place to put the bar when you're done. If you do use their weird handle thing, you are limited in grip width/angle and the design of the pivot (which is typical for lower end exercise equipment) does not have a real bushing/bearing which means that weight doesn't translate from this setup to another. IE if you are curling 50# on this, you might be able to curl 60# with a free bar due to the friction of the pivots.
My third significant gripe is that you need tools to remove/install the leg developer. It would have been very nice if the leg developer was attached with a hand wheel/knob to make it easy to take it on/off. It also has the same wobbly/pivot problem as the preacher attachment. However, if you have a squat stand, you should be squatting, not using a leg developer! That said, it is perfectly adequate for lighter weights - <200# or so and it is certainly no worse than anything else you're likely to find anywhere near its price range.
I had a lot of trouble deciding between 3 and 4 stars for this product - in the end, once factoring in the <$140 price, it is really a 4 or 5 star product even though it is far from perfect.

Assembly: Putting this product together takes a bit of time, but nothing ridiculous. I had help putting it together and would recommend having someone help you if you could, it makes it a lot easier to have one person holding some parts as you tighten and fit the pieces together. Took us just over an hour to build. Build quality is great, seriously did not expect something so sturdy for this price. The cushions and foam pads feel great too. There shouldn't be any wobbling so long as you've tightened everything properly and built it on level ground. After prolonged use (several months) you'll notice some dings and scratches from the weights, but nothing major aside from that. Just make sure you tighten it as recommend every couple months of use. Also, I have gotten a couple cuts and scrapes while using this, but mostly due to my own carelessness (be careful with the plastic that fits at the end of the foam pads haha).
Use: Using this is great. The adjustable bench works very well in the inclined, flat and declined positions (there are footpads to hold you in place during declined benching). I've benched ~200 lbs on it with no worries, while someone was sitting on the bench with me. Squatting feels good on this as well (I'd recommend leaving the bench in the declined position while squatting to make sure you get full range of motion), with the adjustable pads meaning most people at any height should be fine using it. The preacher curl/leg extension attachment is fine. It's only rated for 100 lbs which isn't too much, but you can just compensate by performing more reps. Plus considering most products in a similar price point don't have this attachment, or they're rated for less, I consider it a nice bonus to have. For hamstring curls, finding a position that feels right for you does take some playing around, but once you've got a position you're comfortable in, it works well. If you've got long dumbells like me (20 inch adjustable), some exercises can be awkward, but again only a mild complaint that you should be able to work around. So for the most part unless you're quite an experienced lifter (squatting/benching 3 plates or more) this product will work quite well for you.
Complaints: These are all pretty minor and nitpicky, but issues I've run into nonetheless.
-The plastic end comes off the foam pads and they start sliding off, especially during leg extensions, sometimes annoying having to put it back in between sets
-The pin holding in the preacher curl bar is quite short, never had it come off mid rep but something you have to keep in the back of your mind to make sure you're not curling at an angles so it doesn't come loose
-The foam pads get bent out of shape pretty easily, not a major problem as they still function, mostly just aesthetic
As for who might have problems with this, I can say, I've had people in all height and weight classes use it with little complaints. If you are below 6 ft you should have no issues whatsoever for the main bench or the preacher curl/leg extension. A 5 ft 2 friend used it and had trouble unracking and re racking the weight for squats so you might want to put some sturdy surface underneath to stand on. A 6 ft 2 friend used it and complained leg extensions and hamstring curls were a bit uncomfortable, but not too major. A 220 lbs friend used it with no complaints.
Now a few final tips I have. Keeping the preacher curl attachment on you can use it as back support for seated tricep extensions. When benching, roll the barbell forwards, then set yourself up under the bar and unrack it to make sure the hooks don't get in the way. Same with squatting.
Overall I highly, highly recommend this. It's one of the cheapest yet highest quality ways I've seen to build a full home gym setup. Having this along with a barbell and some dumbells, you can complete a full body program with ease. I've had good experiences when I had to contact customer support with a question as well. For nearly everyone, I think this will be a perfect setup. However, if you're very advanced, very tall, or very heavy, I'd recommend getting a full rack setup. Won't be cheap but you may have some issues with this product at that point.
Thank you for reading, again please rate if you found this helpful :)
