I have mine sitting on a flat surface wood floor and it is stable. I would assume that if it were sitting on carpet you may want to anchor it to a wall.

It can be but doesn't have to be. I would if it will be on carpet. The anchor is included with the other parts.

There is a piece for you to mount it to the wall for extra support but it doesn't shake or rock with the tv on the stand so I did not use it

It comes with a wall bracket to secure it to the wall as an extra but made no use of it.

It can be scured to a wall, but not mounted on it.

Yes, there is a hole in the back where you would set the DVD player, game, and etc. but there is no need for a hole where the TV sets because it's open space. Check out my review, I uploaded a picture. I hope this helps!

There is a hole in the back panel to accommodate wires

There are holes for the bottom shelves, yes. For the tv, you don't need holes because the back is wide open. It looks great though, you can't see the wires or anything.

The shelf that holds the tv has a oval shape cut in the back were you can fish the cable to the back panel that has a 2.5" hole for the wiring.

its not showing how you plug the cable wirers in do it have hole in the back because you can't tell on the picture
