the entrance has a heavy duty zipper and latches (for lack of proper term). it can be zipped/unzipped from both inside and outside (like a tent) but if you want added security you can do external latches as well. just be aware you will have to let the kids out with that option.

It was packaged in a box that was completely destroyed upon arrival to my home. There are probably pieces missing, as there was a huge hole that items may have fallen out of. :(

I fit it in my Hyundai Sante Fe with ease. But it is very heavy.

In a medium size box, not that big. Not sure about specific weight in the box, but my husband lifted it himself, & it fit good in our suv, with plenty of room left : ) Prob took up one side of the back of our suv.

The box is a manageable size for two people to carry, but it does weigh 84 pounds!
