This Stanley tool box is built well, and has the traditional Stanley red color. This Stanley set comes with the tool box and a small starter black chrome set of tools. The starter set of tools is well made and a dark colored tool set. 

There are two bottom drawers and a larger top drawer. The two bottom drawers lock when the top part of the tool box is locked. This is a nice feature so that the tool box will remain shut, and the drawers will not fall open with tools falling out, if/when the tool box is picked up and moved. 

The two smaller drawers are large enough to store screwdrivers and smaller tools. The top part of the tool box is where the larger items, like a hammer can be stored. 

This is a very nice quality smaller well built Stanley tool box. Good for home use. We highly recommend this item.

Stanley Tool Box & Starter Set of Socket Tools

First I would like to say that I love tools. I also like durable toolboxes along with anything that will help in organizing those tools.
I absolutely love this Stanley tool box. Has a very good looking red finish, two drawers along with a top opening lid that has a nice top storage area. The tool box is already lined. It also comes with a great selection of sockets, two ratchet wrenches along with a nice selection of bits and included drive handle with adapter. As a bonus you get two allen wrench sets in standard and metric. 
The finish on the tools is also very nice and all of this comes in a nice storage container. As another nice touch the toolbox is lockable. When the lid is closed the drawers will not open. The latches on the lid will accept a pad lock. All in all a nice tool box with a lot of handy features.
If you need a gift for that special tool using someone or need a nice starter set with storage this set is ideal. Truly an exceptional value that I highly recommend.

Great Looking, Sturdy Tool Box

this 101 piece stanley toolbox set consists of a strong steel/metal toolbox
having 2 slide-out drawers and having a space on top of the drawers where tools
can also be stored. the cover/lid to the entire box has a carry handle and when
the lid is closed, the drawers automatically lock, preventing them from 
sliding around and stops the contents from falling out.
 each individual storage space has an anti-slip flexible foam mat which keeps
the contents also from sliding into each other.
 the contents consist of
 1. 2 different sized ratchets
 2. 1 ratchet extender
 3. 1 screwdriver with 33 screwdriver bits consisting of:
 a. large assortment of phillips bits
 b. assorted straight bits
 c. other style of bit ends
 4. 47 assorted sockets ranging in small to large
 5. 16 allen wrenches

this box is the perfect started set for anyone beginning their tool collection.
stanley brand is very strong and reliable. stanley is known for being made well.
 the ratchet and socket set especially comes in handy not only for automotive
projects but for assembling pre-fab furniture, and it helps the projects move
along alot faster, saving time. 
 pre- fab furniture usually has hardware that needs the use of the allen
wrenches. and of course, screwdrivers are always needed for everything, whether it
be a simple screw tightening on a cabinet door to unscrewing your screws on
electronic items around the house.
 changing the spark plugs on car engines needs the use of the ratchets with
sockets.
 this stanley set is just right. a person might start with this tool unit, and then
at a later time, add tools as needed. there is PLENTY OF ROOM TO GROW from here.

stanley 101 piece tool box

I was expecting a cute little metal painters style toolbox with a handle but I was pleasantly surprised! This is a good sized, heavy duty metal toolbox! It has two pull out drawers and the top flips open. Doesn't come with a whole ton of tools though. Lots of little pieces, different screwdriver gwads, sizes, Allen wrenches, lots of sockets, very useful pieces! It's quite heavy as it so the more you add the harder it is to carry, naturally. Bottom line, I'm very pleased. Approx 12x22, didn't have a measuring tape so I improvised lol but it's good sized! Even though I got this for myself, this will make a great girl! Very happy with it.

Love this (not) so little toolbox!

This review is for the Stanley Mech Tool Set & Metal Box, 101-pc. The toolbox itself is very attractive. It is a shiny red with black accents. This is a 2 Drawer metal storage box with 100 tools. This box includes twenty five 1/4” drive sockets, twelve 3/8” drive sockets, 1/4” drive pear head ratchet, 3/8” drive pear head ratchet, 1/4” drive bit adapter, 1/4” drive spinner handle, thirty three 1/4” drive specialty bits, 3/8” drive extension bar, and 16 hex keys. The 2 drawers look small but they do fit way more than you would think that they would. The drawers open smoothly unlike others we have had where you have to force them open, that does not happen with this one. Everything is boxed up and packaged nicely inside the box so nothing can get damaged. My husband was very excited for this as we are still trying to build our tool supply now that we bought our first home. The box has latches so it closes securely and will not open while carrying. I don't have anything negative to say about this product whatsoever. It is a great set to have on hand for sure. Perfect for homeowners and professionals.

Great tool box

Let's start with a couple of minor problem areas that would not bother someone handy with tools. There is no list of parts provided and also no document telling you how to use the ratcheting socket wrenches and their adapters. By playing with the various parts, I was able to put some things together but the lack of instructions will probably stop me from using these tools regularly. The box is very sturdy and has two smooth drawers and a top compartment. Bulky tools probably will not fit but there is plenty of room for your screwdrivers and pliers. The red color with chrome trim is attractive and make the tool box easy to find. The tool box and the provided tools are well made and should last a long time. There are 33 screwdriver bits, 46 sockets, 3 adapters, 2 ratcheting socket wrenches and 16 hex wrenches. The plastic tray holding the parts is labeled but it is flimsy and may not last very long. I believe this set is a good purchase for someone wanting to learn about tools. Once the ratchets and adapters are learned the tools should be of great value in any home.

Solidly Built

When I saw that a Stanley 101 piece tool box was available, I was super excited. I was expecting 101 pieces of screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc. So when I opened the tool box and saw a 101 piece socket and ratchet set, I was shocked, surprised, and disappointed. If Stanley tools wants to sell to the average consumer, vs. a mechanic, they might want to evaluate the words they use for descriptions.
That being said, I got a Stanley tool box... It is solid and true to the Stanley name. This tool box has 2 slide out drawers with a padding in each of them to avoid scratching the metal paint. They slide, glide beautifully. I put the socket set (which is pretty heavy) in the bottom drawer and the drawer still slides nicely. No tipping. The top lid has 2 latches that lift up easily. It also has a very sturdy handle to carry the tool box. This top drawer is deep to hold larger items, like a sledgehammer. It also has the black pad to avoid scratches. The most amazing thing about this tool box, besides the fact that is made of quality, is that the 2 lower drawers won't open while the top drawer is open. The top lid has to be closed. This safety feature is great for not having the tool box tip over on someone or spillage of your tools. Even though there was confusion with what came with the Stanley 101 piece tool box, I'm still glad I got it and will put my own tools in it.

Confusing description

Once receiving this I unpacked the set and found some tools that will come in handy, bonus is there is plenty of room for the average tools that most people have and use more often. The tool box itself is good and very solid you really can't go wrong with just about anything Stanley Tools makes. I would recommend this to people I know for sure.

Tool Box and Tools

I decided to replace my plastic toolbox with a metal box made by Stanley. Stanley tools don't have a lifetime warranty, but they last a long time at a reasonable cost. I received this box as part of the Spark Review program, and it's a wonderful item.
My favorite safety feature of this toolbox is that the drawers won't open unless the lid is raised. They also come with foam mats to protect the bottoms of the drawers from scratches. It's easy to find your tools without having to dig for them. 
The toolbox comes with ratchets, sockets, driver and bits, and Allen wrenches. It's a nice starter kit for anyone from the college student to the seasoned handy-person. The enclosed tools come in a tray that can fit in the top or one of the drawers to keep the sockets organized. The drawers looked very small, but I was able to fit all my hammers and pliers inside with room to spare. The handle is ergonomic--no cramped hand from carrying a heavy box around. 
If the box gets scratched, it could rust. I've found enamel rust-proof spray for metal will take care of that problem. 
The one place I wouldn't recommend this set for is work. There is no lock on the box, so there's no way to keep your tools secure. Having said that, I think this is a great tool set, and would make a nice gift for anyone who uses hand tools.
