About this item
- Plastic
- 3,000 SQ FT: Removes up to 35 pints (50 pints 2012 DOE) of water every 24 hours. This model is perfect for bedrooms or other mid-size rooms up to 3,000 square feet or spaces that are extremely humid like bathrooms and laundry rooms. With the continuous gravity drain you can bypass the bucket and remove water into your sump pump or floor drain.
- AUTO DRAIN: This dehumidifier will stop running if the water bucket fills up. Save time with automatic drainage by hooking up a 3/4 inch dehumidifier drain hose (not included) to your dehumidifier. If you don't want continuous drainage you can use the removable water bucket (1.5 gallon capacity) to manually empty the dehumidifier and restart moisture removal.
- REAL-TIME MONITORING: After choosing a target humidity level the control panel will display the current humidity level. The dehumidifier will power off after reaching the target you set. If you want the dehumidifier to run nonstop regardless of the current humidity level, press the minus button until the control panel displays "NS." The dehumidifier will run until the drain bucket is full, which will never happen if you have the continuous drain set up.
- SOLID MATERIAL: All plastic components are made from solid ABS for increased durability. We use solid-copper tubing in our internal lines for better heat transfer and received a UL94 flame-retardant classification of V-0, which means even if the unit were to catch on fire, the flame would stop within 10 seconds.
- 30 YEARS' EXPERIENCE: As the largest residential AC producer in the world, we have a pretty good idea about how to make quality products. If you have any problems or concerns, our customer service team is happy to assist you.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I have a small house at right around 1,300 square feet that tends to run incredibly humid and found myself experiencing more moisture than usual. So, it was time for another dehumidifier. I ordered the TOSOT only a couple of days before I had a small water pipe burst that caused even more moisture.
The TOSOT is designed to dehumidify effectively up to 1,500 square feet and 30 pints per 24 hours. It's Energy Star qualified and advertised as a quiet model. It has a feature that allows for continuous drain, though you have to buy the hose separately - I did not do that. The bucket is removable and can be manually drained. The dehumidifier stops automatically when full.
After 250 hours of continuous usage, the air filter will signal a need to be cleaned. Once you clean and re-install it, the signal goes away.
I'll be honest and say I'm close to giving it a 4-star rating as I think it mildly underperforms in terms of actual capacity. However, I'm opting to go ahead and stick with a 5-star review because I think in virtually every other way this is a solid mid-range workhorse that does almost everything else it's supposed to do.
The dehumidifier is, indeed, very quiet. I used it in two different places in my home. When I had it in my hallway, I couldn't hear it at all in the front of my house. It's certainly not disruptive in any way.
It is Energy Star qualified and functions as promised. Almost exactly after 250 hours of continuous use, you get the signal it's time to clean the air filter.
The TOSOT was easy to get operational even for someone who's not exactly technically minded. I also had an easy time removing both the bucket and the air filter. If you have fine motor skill issues, you might have some difficulty with the air filter because of the angle required to remove and replace it.
While I think the capacity promised is a bit higher than performance level, the TOSOT is still impressive and easily operated for my continuous need and performed quite nicely.
My recommendation would be that given its size it works best as a floor model, though it might work on a sturdy shelf. Because it's more mid-size, it doesn't necessarily blend in with decor. However, I found it worked fine in my hallway and at one point in the corner of a room.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the purchase and would easily buy the make and model again. I probably needed a little bit more capacity than this model, but for moderate humidity issues this model definitely performs well, is durable, and delivers as advertised.
I've had this for today months. It's energy efficient and quiet on medium and low settings. On high it's about as loud as my AC on low. At about 3 feet away it measures at 63-67db. It's really not much different than the sound of a good quality fan in my observation.
Performance
It's 90% humidity outside at 71F today at sea level. The unit has my bedroom at 35% after about 3 hours of continuous use today. My bedroom is 12'x18'. Typically I have it running 24/7. At this temperature and humidity level I would have to empty the tank once per day. I would suggest emptying thre tank before you sleep so as not to be woken by the full alarm which is high pitched and loud.
Notes.
The water tank has a fold down handle attached inside of the tank. It seems sturdy enough for occasional use but with regular use I would suggest using the handle only to carry the water tank to wherever you decide to dump the water and not hold onto the handle while you're dumping the water. The joints that connect the handle to the tank cover don't look like they could handle the torque forced on them for long --so hold the tank by the bottom and sides if it's full.
I only use this in the bedroom and it works to my satisfaction. I'm sure it would be adequate for an entire 800 sqf apartment in less humid locations (or higher altitude). However, if you live near the water or on an island you might have to get multiple units or a larger one if you're looking to get to 20% humidity. So far I've only been able to get to 20% when the humidity level outside was at about 50% which is rare for NYC summers. I'll keep you apprised of any updates.
On the highest fan setting it DOES put out warm-hot air but if you lower the fan setting, that brings exhausted air down to cooler than room temperature.
I hope this review is helpful.
Cheers!
- There's a lot of confusion about the pump and hose connections. If you select the "no pump" model then the connection is a garden hose and it'll only drain down. If you select the "pump" model then it has the garden hose connection for draining, but it also has a pump outlet connection which is a 1/4" (outside diameter) hose (that comes with the unit) that'll pump in any direction you want. I have mine about 7 feet high at the end of the 15' hose and it works great. I connected another length of 1/4" diameter hose to the end of it (hose and coupling bought at home depot) which slopes downward from the point of connection and it works great. The pump gets the water to the high point and then it just flows down.
- The process for removing the drain plug on the pump outlet is easy if you just follow the video (not the manual). The manual omits the step of first powering on the "pump" function which I think it the crucial part.
- The pump works by kicking on when the internal bucket is nearly full and then partially draining it. So there will be standing water, but it's contained within the unit. If you want to dump the bucket just pull it out and dump it. Really easy. Best practice is to probably clean it once a month or something. Not a big deal.
Overall I'm really happy - this thing KICKS and pulls a ton of moisture out of the air and runs pretty quietly. The pump function seems to work really smoothly as well so I just don't have to worry about it. Can't speak to longevity, but I'll update my review if there are any issues. No update = no issues.
