This product was totally easy to put together and very easy to use. I followed the directions and as long as I followed along step by step everything worked great! It took a short amount of time for assembly. The product is very sturdy. It withstands my weight which is no small feat lol! I like that it comes with a DVD with exercises to do with the workout bench and they are easy to follow and adapt to my level of experience. It is aesthetically pleasing. The blue and black colors work well together . The glideboard is smooth and slides with no problems. Overall the Total Gym workout system is an awesome way to get in shape and stay healthy in the comfort of my own home day or night. Quiet and sleek I enjoy my workouts now!

Awesome total home workout system!

I noticed the name Total Gym on the selection and chose right away. The brand I have seen on television for many years as they make excellent products. This is no different. The product is well built, will last quite some time, and although it seems very simple it works quite well. 

First I will talk about the assembly. Pretty basic. The package is quite large as that whole bottom piece comes already assembled. So when you receive the package it will be quite large and might be a bit difficult to move around as it weights 40 lbs. A two wheeler or maybe another person to help carry the product in your house or apartment.

The product comes with a manual that is fair in terms of assembly manuals that I have used. The Walmart website has a video that gives step by step instructions. I kept wanting to pause the video do the step and then come back to the video but video didn't seem to work well when I put it on pause. So I started with the manual but found the video assembly much easier to use as you can see the pictures and how the bolts line up with each other. For example one part is labeled right side and the other left side. I don't know if I have problems with right from left but didn't know from what direction. The video made that much simpler as per lining the holes and position of the parts. Its a pretty simple assembly and took me about 1 hour. I read some reviews about complaints with how to assemble. With the video on the Walmart website you won' t have any problems at all. Real simple.

The DVD runs about 10 minutes. 9:38 to be exact. The trainer explains all of the different exercises that can be done on this Abdominal trainer. The exercises are well explained and it is quite well done. She sounds a bit far away on the dvd. I would have liked the sound to have a little more clarity and more depth as she seems to far away from the mic. That is a very minor point but thought as long as I'm doing the review I would mention that. Besides the DVD a nice wall chart comes with the Workout machine. This wall chart shows the different exercises that can be done.

The product as mentioned is from Total Gym and seems to be high quality and nice padding and materials. The exercises work as described and seem to be of great benefit. 

To conclude: The price is quite reasonable for this product, the assembly is simple enough, the exercises are quite useful, and seems to be a machine that you would use for many years. 

A definite buy on this product. Highly recommend.!!!!!

Simple Assembly, Well Built, Excellent workout

The Total Gym Fitness Dynamic Core and Abdominal Trainer really does work in a blast. The angle of the gym puts you into a modified plank as soon as you position yourself on it. This works more than just your abs, it also works your shoulders, upper back and back of your arms. There are different levels of each exercise so you can progress. This will even be beneficial for elite athletes. This is an excellent addition to any home gym. It is sturdy with a max user weight of 300 pounds and can be folded up to take up less space when it isn't in use. There is nice, damp rag cleanable padding on the elbow and kneeling pads and non slip hand grips. The kneeling pad glides smoothly. This was easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. The pieces were organized and packed well. It comes with a DVD that explains each exercise so you can begin using it almost immediately! I would recommend this to anyone that is needing core strengthening.

Beyond the core

This is great! I put it together during a lunch break and have been using it since daily. I get a good soreness from it which is great for my post partum tummy. For the price this is a fantastic product and I like I can still fold up out of the way when needed

No regrets

The Total Gym Fitness Dynamic Plank Core & Abdominal Trainer Blast Workout Machine is an excellent tool for working out in your home. It really does work on the core areas of your body to strengthen and firm. 
The only drawback is that you have to put it together. It took me and my husband over 2 hours to get this put together because the directions were not clear. But, I have to say that all the parts fit together as they are supposed to and the machine works really well.
You can move the machine from room to room as well because the bottom part has "wheels" that allow you to "drag" the machine from place to place without damage.
So, if you are looking for a dynamic workout machine that does not take up too much space and is portable and WORKS, this is for you!

WORKOUT MACHINE THAT REALLY WORKS YOU OUT!

The Total Gym Fitness Dynamic core& trainer blast workout machine is an alright product , it comes with a dvd and a illustration pamphlet of core exercises it glides easy and the exercises are easy to follow, the instructions to put it together where not, it was a real bearcat to assemble , i kept having to take breaks and then go back and try again to make sense of the instructions, but once together it was pretty nice, it's big and decently heavy but easy to pull around the room , remove the two pins and you can fold it and lean it up against the wall so it doesn't take up a lot of space and that is real handy so you don't have to leave it sitting in your floor because as I said before its big, but it's nice to have a piece of equipment at home that you can do so many exercises on and not have to go to the gym, I prefer sweating in private and if you will use this right you will sweat. My stomach muscles can sure feel the workout which seems promising, if you need to work on your core give this a try, when you compare the cost to what you get it's not bad, I only gave it 4 stars because of the assembly issue other wise I'd given it 5.

Nice machine

The first thing I noticed, when the Total Gym Core Trainer was delivered, was how heavy it is. I felt good about that, because it indicates a strong and sturdy piece of equipment. I have difficulty exercising, due to a bad back and arthritis in my knees/hands. I am not able to run, jog, overly exert myself or lift heavy objects. I have been hoping to find something, which would enable me strengthen my body - especially my back and core. I am so thrilled to have this equipment, to test, for review, and look forward to using it, regularly. If it helps to strengthen my body and give me a better quality of life, that would be fantastic! The Core Trainer comes with everything you need, to assemble, including tools and a manual. (There is also a very good video, on the Walmart site, which has step-by-step assembly instructions. It is easy to follow and makes the assembly much easier. I am a 59 year old lady and had no trouble, with the assembly.) There is an instructional DVD, featuring a personal trainer and fitness expert, which guides you through the exercises. Also included is a laminated workout guide. The guide shows, at a glance, the different exercises you might utilize. This equipment works the deep core muscles, which is great - but it also strengthens and stabilizes the spine, which is important, to me. I am able to perform some of the exercises, with a bit of effort, and I'm sure I will become more adept, over time. The equipment moves smoothly, without jerky motions. I don't have to strain my knees or lift any heavy weights. The glideboard, elbow pad and handlebar are all well padded, which is a big plus. Tighten all the bolts, per instructions, and you will have a good, sturdy machine. The machine may be folded, for storage, by removing the safety pins. It is very user friendly. I believe, with continued use, this equipment will help me to strengthen my core and my back. It will improve my ability to move and enable me to function more effectively. Yay! I am extremely pleased and satisfied with this Core Trainer. I am so happy to finally have something, which will allow me to get some productive exercise. I would recommend it, as it is a great piece of equipment and is priced reasonably.

Great Machine at a Reasonable Price

Been using this for a week now. It's instant and you can feel it! I'm taking it slow. Have only done a few of the exercises listed. Because it works and I am terribly out of shape. It really does feel good and like it can do some good. 

The instructions are a bit too compact...I had trouble figuring out some of it. I also had a problem with lining up the bolts for the arm rest. That's very frustrating. It took some effort to make them fit. It comes with DVD and that may have explained better, but I didn't get it to work and it's not the fault of the DVD. But after that I tried a few of the exercises. Very nice to have a sheet with reference. I can only do a couple of the exercises but they are powerful and I expect to be doing more soon. Taking it slow. 

This is a bit heavy but nothing to worry about that way, it rolls! Which is wonderful. I have a very small space and this has to be pulled out and put away and it easily folds up and rolls into a little spot. And the way it folds up, you don't have to worry about it falling over. 

I'm impressed with it and hopeful. I simply don't do crunches, don't have the power and hurts neck and once I get on the floor, it's over. With this I really feel my mid section getting a workout.

Nie and portable

I didn't have a very hard time putting the item together, but some of the holes were misaligned and took a while to get the bolts to go in. As of now, I have been unable to tighten the nuts and bolts with the wrenches provided. I was still able to use the product safely, though.

The machine will require you to have strong wrists for some of the moves and good stability in your feet. I have various issues with my wrists and feet and can't even do push ups on the floor, so it is unlikely that I will be doing too much of that kind of workout. 

I think it is quite useful for doing crunches and things of that nature.

Useful

Seeing the picture online for the Total Gym I assumed it would be like a Pilate's workout. My husband put together the Total Gym for us to use. The instructions that are included with the equipment are confusing. He also commented that the pictures could have been better to show how to put the equipment together. He was able to eventually figure it out but be aware when you are putting yours together. The paper that is included with your purchase shows you the Total Gym core trainer workout. It is basically crunches, planks and different versions of them. We decided that we didn't really need a machine to do these exercises as you can do them without the equipment. The equipment does fold down to store but still takes up space. If you have a room designated for your workout, then possibly you might want this to add variety. There is a DVD included with the purchase that is very good at detailing more variations of the exercises. The paper that is included shows some of the exercises but not as detailed or varied as the DVD does. Worth watching I think. The information does say it is a core and abdominal workout so it isn't misleading in that regard, just not what I thought it was going to be for a total fitness core workout.
